For anyone who shops in Costco, it seems that there is always some high fiber non-grain pasta available in my local store,

I’ve bought them in odd colors (black/red/others) and are made of various types of legumes, and although DH doesn’t like them, I think they’re fine with pasta sauce from a jar and grated Parmesan cheese.

I think the total percentage of carbohydrates is on the high side BUT they are also very high in fiber, so your individual results may vary.

Fiberpasta is reduced carb, high fiber, high protein. It’s marketed to athletes, those who are very physically active, diabetics and others. It’s non-GMO, vegan and certified organic. They have many shapes, two varieties, and they also make flour and dog cookies and are planning human cookies. That kind of sounds weird (at least to me) but they have in essence developed a new type of wheat flour. Multi-tasking, lol.

You can check out their site and all the info at

fiberpasta dot us or dotcom

I’m not “advertising” this product, LOL, just providing other diabetics an opportunity to investigate it if they feel like it. I have zero to do with the company, no financial interest whatever. I haven’t ordered it myself yet, though I may well order it. I was just intrigued and impressed by their info and website and trying to provide news to my fellow diabetics.

Lots of companies were on the bandwagon then. You’d think, just because diabetes is such a serious issue today, that there would still be a market for all of it, not just Atkins. Some of it can I’m sure be found on Amazon, but that’s not the same as things catching your eye in person.

Side note to september: I think one of the restaurants I used to turn my nose up at in Capitola as being blah/touristy has had a menu change. Chanced upon the menu today and am now dying to go to Paradise Beach Grille.

And now that I’ve gotten my water-resistant rainy weather shoes, just arrived today, noooo rain in sight. That’s good for the Pro-Am though. They were saying best weather ever. Sure is gorgeous out.

Some diabetics say this isn’t true for them, others say they don’t deduct one-for-one by more like half-for-one.

In any case, the common feeling from most diabetic dieticians is such that 41 grams of carbs minus 15 grams of protein means that as far as their blood sugar response, they are eating 26 grams of carbs. Add to that the fact that this pasta flour was designed to be very low glycemic index, and it would be much healthier than regular pasta at least from a blood sugar management POV.

It doesn’t work this way for every diabetic, but it does work this way for more diabetics than not.
