QVC Safety Bathmat

I always use a bathmat when showering, DH and DD do not. The other day, DD slipped in the shower, fell, hit her knees, twisted her back and injured a finger. She's healing fast, but still sore.

I made her try out my bathmat the next day and she liked it. It's from QVC, two for $25.48 and worth it imo. It supposedly has a spa-like surface, not slippery, and the suction cups are on the edges of where you stand, not under your feet and uncomfortable.

I really like it and it has NEVER slipped around.

I thought I would tell you all about it since falling the in shower or tub is SO DANGEROUS.

It gets four stars out of 29 reviews, how is that not good?

All I can say is that I have used it every day, for months and months, and it has never slipped for me. Those suction cups are strong, they don't go anywhere. To clean it, you just hold it upside down under the shower, the water goes through and cleans it. If there is hair on the top, you just pick it off.

I’ve seen them at Bed Bath and Beyond. I’m not sure they would work on my textured tile. Of course my shower isn’t as slippery since I stopped using Wen.

@Noel7.....sorry to read that your daughter fell. I hope she heals quickly.

Thanks for the recommendation. I just ordered them for our downstairs bathroom. My husband got rid of the Rubbermaid one we had, so I have avoided showering downstairs and have been using the upstairs shower. This will give me more options now.

Still recovering from the flu. It has been a very long road. One day I feel better, the next day I am coughing round the clock. I am praying for some relief....

Hope the results of your tests come out OK and a simple med will solve most of it. I have Hashimoto's with multi-nodular goiter. Like yourself I had that awful sonogram of the thyroid where they push the dumb thing into your neck. I also had thyroid biopsies over the years and everything is benign. Just a word of warning....get yourself a really good endocrinologist. Thyroid issues are tricky and you need a really good diagnostician.

You might be right about the textured tile, it could be difficult for it to grip.

I'm glad you mentioned them at BBB, maybe they sell them individually and someone would not have to buy two at a time.

I'm so glad to hear from you! I looked for you during the holidays and hoped you were doing OK.

I wrote to my MD and told her what you had said about Hashimotos as a possibility. She was out for the holidays, back today or tomorrow.

I had the CT scan and sonogram Friday. Gee, it lasted half an hour, I hated that choking feeling but I kept telling myself I was OK as long as I could breathe. I was supposed to get the blood work done but I went straight home instead, I was exhausted and had gotten sick earlier.

I had a mild panic attack last night. It's been so tough on me for the better part of a year, one thing after another. I just wore the hospital gown out to the car and wore it home, it was that bad... and I was always the tough soldier...

I totally understand what you are still going through with the B flu, I still have the deep coughing spells.

By law all new homes must use non slip bath tubs and also from what I've been told anyone who wants to remodel their bathroom can only find non slip bath tubs which is good. We have a non slip but because I am an occasional Wen user I too discovered that it makes the tub slippery which makes me mad, very mad. Wen leaves a horrible gooey film on your tub doesn't matter that it's non slip. One thing though I always dislked about bath mats is the ones I've tried from years ago, they developed mold on the suction cups. When I am out of the shower and cold and wet I don't like to have to do the necessary housekeeping to prevent that....not sure if this new one from Qvc does that.

@Noel7......I truly understand. Truly. I have had panic attacks and often times they are just the result of unrelenting stress.

Thank goodness we both have family to lean on. In many ways we are both blessed because I often read of people on these forums who are alone dealing with health issues. I really don't know how they do it sometimes.

Here's to both of us getting a break this year. And no more heart attacks for either one of us!!

I hope it works well for you, I hadn't heard, until now, that some people say it slips. I don't see how, but anyway... I ordered two more as backups after DD fell. I figure they must wear out at some point, but so far that mat has been great for me.

When DD fell, I ran in, her knees hurt so much, she kept slipping. I tried to help her up but she's taller than I am. What a scene

They are of swans.

Noel ,we bought ours at the hospital, They carry items like this. You might look at a place that supplies wheelchairs ,and that sort of thing

I tried the stickers twice, including those for on the side of a tub to make it easier to get out. They didn't stay and they were not as functional as the mat, not by any stretch.

But great that they work for you!

We installed grab bars in both our bathrooms. Has made a big difference for us.

I have those stick-on things on my tub, too. Never had any problem with them coming off. I also have two grab bars on the walls, one opposite the shower head and the other on the long side wall. I have had to use them on more than one occasion but not because of slipping but because I can't get up off the tub floor without them when I take baths.

I am confused by this post.

We just built a brand new custom designed home and do not have a non slip bottom tub in our guest bathroom. Our master bath has a huge walk in shower. The bottom is tile. We do not have any mats or stickers.

There are no such building codes where I live.

I have used Wen for about 8 years now, DH for 5 and have never had any sort of gooey film.
