      <title>Update...weight loss goal thread For those interested</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi everyone! &amp;nbsp;Just realized that a lot of you want to join in as a group to share in a weight loss/ healthy living plan through to June 30, 2018 ( 6 months)&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;what we need to decide is: &amp;nbsp;do you want an on going thread that we continue to add to each day etc? &amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Please share how how you want this thread to be...tips, recipes....positive reinforcement etc.....ideas would be lovely!&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I got in scale yesterday to see where I was at....😲to where I want to be.🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 &amp;nbsp;I need to lose 15 pounds. AT LEAST. &amp;nbsp;Even if you NEVER weigh yourself....I think you need to start doing that once a week. &amp;nbsp;It does give you an idea of where you are at....even though the scale can differ Day to day with water retention etc. &amp;nbsp;a starting point is honest.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;So, share today today and tomorrow ideas of what to call the thread....AND if you want an on&amp;nbsp;going &amp;nbsp;day to day thread, CONTINUOUS . &amp;nbsp;I think that would be best myself.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Have a a lovely evening all!🙂&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I'll be checking in here.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;3 1/2 years ago I wanted to lose 10 pounds, now it's 20.&amp;nbsp; UGH.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;It's hard for me because people talk about how slim I am but I'm not.&amp;nbsp; I just hide my weight well enough that people think that.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;They don't see me in the shower!!!!!&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;DH needs to lose more.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;So, we are going to eat sorta vegetarian as much as possible.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;No beef, chicken or pork at home.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;Some fish.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;It's winter and we both like brothy soups (not cream ones) so I see lots of vegetable soups in our future.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;Cut down on sugar and get more exercise.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;We don't eat out much but will deviate when eating out , if we want to.&amp;nbsp; I love a good filet mignon once in a while.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I like the idea of an ongoing thread with tips, recipes, encouragement.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;Anything that will help keep us all on track.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I know one good tip that a trainer told me is to avoid the triggers ..which &amp;nbsp;are sweet,salt and fat.He told me that most people are addicted to one or more of these triggers that cause them to eat more than they need.We started to buy unsalted nuts and I have noticed that we all eat a smaller portion without thinking about it.I know that anything sweet calls out to me until it is gone so I need to keep that stuff out of my house.My dh can eat one chocolate or cookie but I need to finish the box before I’m done....sugar is my worst trigger.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;We take a walk after dinner each night which helps the digestion and revs the metabolism.I think it is best to split your workout time in two parts to keep your metabolism working it’s best.I go to the gym in the morning,housework in the afternoon and a walk after dinner so that I can eat more calories.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I would love to follow. &amp;nbsp;Have needed to lose 10 pounds for a very long time and now it’s up to 20-25 pounds. &amp;nbsp;I put on quite a bit after menopause and then a complete hysterectomy. &amp;nbsp;Many mornings I walk (haven’t for about two weeks due to all the Christmas activities and won’t next week as it is predicted to be in the 20’s) but plan on getting started again. &amp;nbsp;I look forward to suggestions, recipes etc. &amp;nbsp;Thanks for starting this thread.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I think it is important to drink lots of water, keeps one hydrated, filled up, just healthy, and eat blueberries.&amp;nbsp; I buy a large frozen organic bag at Costco, thaw a bowl a day, and nibble during the day, works wonders.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I agree with walking.&amp;nbsp; Even though I know I walk miles and miles and miles every day around the house, and up and down stairs, somehow it isn't enough&amp;nbsp;to make a difference, so I have been briskly walking around in my large circular driveway, then I walk down the steep part of the driveway, several times, increasing the minutes every week, and I feel very good afterward.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3"&gt;Coming up with a thread name will be not only a real "draw," but will make it easier for us to find ourselves here.&amp;nbsp; (Years ago in Wellness, I started a thread called "Are you falling apart," and we ended up calling it the Falling Apart thread.)&amp;nbsp; Something to which we can relate would be wonderful.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3"&gt;I don't feel a daily "obligation" should exist, but that we should drop in very frequently, knowing that the more we do, the better off we're going to be in the long run.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3"&gt;The 6 month run to 06/30/18 saddens me, as I'm in this for a year plus, due to the drug weight I put on.&amp;nbsp; Hope there will be others out there who have more than 10 or 20 lbs to lose.&amp;nbsp; Heck, if I had only 10 lbs to lose, I would have had that off ages ago.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3"&gt;Good luck, everyone!&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;The most difficult part of weight loss is maintaining that loss. Yes, those of us who are losing need the motivation to overcome hurdles and temptation but we also want to learn the secrets of those who maintain succcessfully. I have weight to lose but I chose to use the past year to maintain before beginning another attempt.&amp;nbsp; I am nearing 76 and I can tell you that the recommended 1200 minimum calories a day make it difficult to lose a pound a week unless you add&amp;nbsp; more than 30 minutes of exercise a day. I use both My Fitness Pal and my FitBit to monitor things.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
