I have had 4 boughts of double vision. With the first I had an MRI which found a pinial cyst (tumor) in my brain. After several doctors I was told it had nothing to do with my vision.

Both eyes have given me problems and I'm a newer diabetic but have that under control. After an assault on DH back in June my Trigeminal Neuralgia flaired with the usual facial pain but this time my left eye bulged worse than ever. I had my pressure checked and it was normal.

The pain in my face has calmed down but the eye pain is worce and the vision is worce and it now stays dialated. Last year I was checked for Temporal Arthritis (not sure of spelling) negitive on the blood test.

Today my doc looked at me and seemed worried and ordered another MRI even though my Neurologist said I've had so many sense 2010 I should not have any for a few years. She also ordered another blood test.

Does anoyone know about this eye condition? If so would you mind writing me?

Thank you so much,

Cathy

I strongly suggest making an appointment with a neurologist to rule out a neurological issue. Double vision can be symptomatic of a neurological problem.

i wish you well. I, too, have gone through numerous tests recently and it wears you down.

Dear Rebecca,

Thank you so much for your thoughtful post! Right now I do not have double vision, just blury in the left eye, bulging and dialated pupil. Neither of us can say when it became dialated but DH noticed it last week setting across from me at lunch. Yesterday it didn't look as dialated but it still is. I will go to an ER (there are plenty in Tucson) if it gets worce.

I guess I'm just used to eye pain and problems and never get any definative answers.

My new doctor seems to be on top of this and she probably will send me to another Neuro. The Neuro I saw has a great reputation and assured me that the pinal cyst had nothing to do with my continuing eye problems. The eye specialist (last year) did every test and gave me no answers except I had a bubble in one eye. He wanted me to have a needle treatment which I passed on and it resolved on it's onw. My attitude was that this too would resolve as well. I had no idea that a dialated pupil meant brain problems.

My friends here in our over 55 community all pretty much have health problems so no one that knows me seemed concerned. I am gratful to you, an on-line friend to encourage me. I will absolutely let you know how things turn out. Blessings to you and your loved ones!

Cathy

My update is that the MRI & blood work was normal. Now to an eye specialist as the eye is still buldging and dialated, painful and blury vision. Doctor thinks it may be from being diabetic as A1C was still not in the 6-7 range so we are increasing my insulin.

Thank you,

Cathy
