I hope I can get to see the Derma Dr tomorrow...

Predicting 12 degrees Brrrr. The sun is out today but tempts were below freezing this morning.. Only predicting 8 degrees for today...

Cannot remember such bitter cold weather that I can remember..

Only good thing snow fall was only a few inches during the night and early morning..

Live Upstate NY mid Hudson Valley area...

It's the bitter cold and ice that scares me more then anything... Town does plow our road but our Property is large and needs private plowing... Our land is fairly up hill and dangerous where we have our garage....

The man that takes care of that also sands area's that are more dangerous to drive on

Do have an SUV.

lovestodance

We were scheduled to attend a large family gathering outside Chicago last weekend and decided to cancel due to the magnitude of storm coming and fear of not getting out and back to Seattle. My cousin, wife and his three kiddo's were stuck on plane at O'Hare for two hours, deplaned and reboarded a couple more times! Two kids in college and other is a teacher so they did not make it back in time for school Tuesday to Atlanta! Glad we elected to stay put! You'd laugh at our measly snow; when we get it it, usually quite icy and we are a very hilly city and suburbs and although have SUV's it's a mess!

ANYWAY, hope you got your "zit" checked out My derm now has me on a RX Retin A with an antibiotic in it -very expensive but insurance covers, for now and this has helped with my cysts, as well as lines and aging!!! So weird as I don't get and never did acne and it's not hormone related! Mine does relate to stress as I've figured it out.

Stay warm!

I am confused. Did he mean zits as in pimples? That is what I have always thought a zit was? I have never heard of using a warm compress....I will have to try that. I still struggle with pimples and some cystic acne. I have to be very careful what I use on my face. Most moisturizers break me out. I like tea tree oil for the areas of my face that I tend to get break outs. It really helps me.

That would be more consistent with a doctor using the proper term -- and you would use warm compresses for those to draw them out. They are deeper than a pimple.

do this: get CVS benzoyl peroxide 2% ""targeted acne spot treatment"" and put it everywhere! It does not dry me out as much as I thought it would. BP penetrates the pore and eventually gets down in there and dries up the pus as well as causing the ""core"" to shrivel up. Use a thick amount and surround the area so the staph bacteria do not ""move"" around to a nearby area. As long as I do this all of the time... my face does not break out. Good luck! BTW... a tube only costs 2.50 or so.

PS MY derm called mine ""cystic acne."" Do not buy a stronger prep. This treatment works if you use it continually and constantly keep the area dry with it. Staph apparently do not

I use buzz on acne which has really cleared my skin, and when I get an individual pimple/zit (even the deep cyst ones), I add bare minerals skincare blemish therapy directly on it. seems to make the cystic ones either go away or come to a head more quickly. my teenage son is getting relief with this combination as well.

Hi all, called my Dr. left a message about this issue... No change in my zit's or what maybe a Cyst... Am really concerned about it...

Did a search to see what I can use with either condition...Read that mixing Tea-Tree oil and water can be used on face area...

I do have and use Tea-Tree oil for my toe nail fungus. Nature Bounty Tea-Tree oil...

Did try it yesterday mixing a tiny amount of Tea-Tree oil and very warm water.... I took a cotton ball and applied it on that area... Not sure if it is helping or not? Do not want to aggravate it... My skin is in pretty good condition as far as break out not very often. So I am waiting for a call back.

Am considering making an appointment with my Derma-Dr.

Will update with what is next?

lovestodance

I can't believe your dr said "zits"! Is this a new condition for you? I would see a derm, if it's a cyst, the derm can inject cortisone to reduce inflammation. I rarely have had any breakouts, but due to stress maybe once a year have a cyst, and get myself to the derm ASAP, to inject! My derm has me on a RX for retin a now and no issues in almost two years. I feel for you...
