If I eat to much fiber I get diarrhea... Don't know how to regulate that for my system. I am also lactose so that plays a big part in my diet.... Colonoscopy was successful and 4 polyps were removed - felt good about that....Need to add fiber slowly....

This Cancer kills so many people that could have saved themselves, and their families, to unnecessary stress, and many times losing their loved one.

Gonna add this: The colon is a self cleaning part of the human body, and moreso when certain types of food travel through it. It doesn't require A Cleanse to take care of it. Drinking fluids regularly, excluding excessive alcohol, and eating some good stuff, is all most colons need to protect themselves.

I am not saying that ALL that die, or get Colon Cancer and recover, are responsible for contracting that terrible disease. What I am saying is that MOST that are diagnosed with that form of Cancer, could have prevented it by having a simple procedure called a Colonoscopy.

Very few people, none that I have met, have had as many different types of scopes put up their *** as have I. The procedure is a low risk simple one to perform for a Gastro Doctor, and most patients that have it remember nothing but The Prep necessary to make sure the procedure is successful.

Why put ones self and their family members through he!! when it is so preventable? I have heard many reasons(I call them excuses) given by many people, but most of them are ones that make absolutely no sense to me.

@Sweet_Serenity, Thank you for a thread I always want to add my comments, from my own personal experiences.

My gastro NP told me she would not recommend a colon cleanse for me. I have severe build up of diverticular pockets that have narrowed my descending colon. I had no idea I had this as my colon only showed one diverticular pocket and one non cancerous polyp (which they removed) in the colonoscopy I had 3 yrs. prior to this one. They told me my colonoscopies are getting more difficult so next time they will use a pediascope.

Be very careful and make sure your colon is fit to do a cleanse. It can be dangerous for some people. In fact I just saw my NP just two days ago so that conversation is still fresh in my mind.

Just had a colonoscopy with good results bc I was having issues. I'm in my 60s and the doc said, "no polyps and diverticulitis in a normal range for someone my age". Hearing the statement "for someone this age" a lot with tests these days (opthalmologist and cataracts, etc)

My issue is that both drugs I take cause constipation so I was beginning to worry about just this issue. However, I was given a handout on diverticulitis and it specifically said that all natural efforts need to be used and does not recommend cleanses. Lists the fiber content of foods I should be eating (most of which I already eat).

@Financialgrl

Glad you got a clear bill with your Colonoscopy. Not sure of the point of your post from that point on. Are you questioning your doctor saying "for someone your age"? I have always got "numbers", I don't go by "average", or "good". I demand numbers, be they percentages or specific to the results.

I will decide where I fall, my specifics, not generalizations of a comparison to others. When it comes to blood tests of any kind, I want numbers along with my own copy of the lab results. No "you did well/average, or any reference to my age". When it comes to physical fitness, what percentile I fall into, in relation to other men in my age group? That is satisfactory to me.

But! I still demand the Fitness Protocol used, and if using the Pulmonary Cart, the specific Oxygen Uptake(Max Vo2 numbers) in my results copy.

As I said earlier, not sure what exactly you are looking to hear(read) in the replies to your clear no polyps Colonoscopy.

hckynut(john)
