This happened to me once, the headache wouldn't go away and I had constant nausea, so off to the ER. It was three and a half weeks before I was diagnosed, suffered with the headache the entire time,. lost weight, finally was sent for a MRI and that showed a cyst in my sinus and infection.

Pulse is how fast, meaning quick or often occurrence of each beat. Blood pressure is pressure on blood vessel walls on the beat ( systolic) and between beats ( diastolic) . High BP can cause your headache. Untreated high BP can lead to stroke. If you have no way to test your own BP, ask if a neighbor has a machine, or any fire station can do it or an ER or urgent care location. If there's no relief from Excedrin then common sense suggests changing the analgesic, not taking more of the same! EXcedrin contains acetaminophen and aspirin and caffeine. So you try a Differnt formulation like ibuprofen, instead. Or adjust your comfort with ice packs and dark, cool room as others have correctly suggested.

If you decide to buy a BP tester, buy only one using an arm cuff, not wrist. Best brand is Omron. Sold in every drugstore. Easy to use, simple setup with big display, batteries last very long. Best used often enough to be able to see a pattern or trend.

Hope you feel better soon. Stop Excedrin and look for different solutions and seek medical advice if iheadache lasts 24 hours.

Not Correct. Have your BP checked. If it's weather related try a benadryl it may be sinus as you can always develop an allergy at any time of life. That's a lot of Excedrine. A little caffine can help but you get a caffine jolt with every Excedrine you take. As others have said. Dark room, cool head, bland carb to settle the stomach. If you can't shake it, seek help. Shouldn't have to just endure feeling that crummy. Get some sleep and feel better soon.

If that were my case, I would have no blood pressue. My pulse right now is 51bpm, and it goes much lower. It is not Bradycardia. When really physically fit, my BP is very low, BUT, it pumps more blood than many others with each each beat. Bradycardia is slow hr, but not pumping much blood, so it is not good.

hckynut(john)

My teacher daughter has also had a headache for 2 days. It is a common occurrence for her this time of year, when she is up and out at 6 a.m., breathing in the cool morning air. She is experiencing big reactions to her weekly allergy injections, which is a major sign that her body is dealing with heavy allergens, and is not happy about it.

Regardless of what the calendar says, my daughter deals with this, just like this, for every change of seasons. Rain is expected tonight, which may, or may not improve things for her.

@Mom2Dogs, I'm so sorry you're suffering. I've had atypical and classic disabling migraine disease most of my life, and I've also had cluster headaches. And, like many posters, I've dealt with the occasional sinus-related and general tension-related head pain. It's not easy to diagnose the type or the source online. I wanted to post to agree that this is something important enough to contact a physician or pharmacist who knows you or go to an ER or a nearby walk-in urgent care clinic. (I'm also concerned about ingesting that much Excedrin over a relatively short period of time.) Please take good care of yourself. I wish you well.❤️

Tight, unyielding muscles can be very nasty, and resist OTC medication when they really "lock in."

If this is a sharp, stabbing pain, extremely sharply painful, or at the top of your skull, I too would urge you to get seen ASAP because that could be symptoms of very high blood pressure or impending stroke or aneurysm. But muscle tension headaches can be completely incapacitating too.

Migraines run in my family, but only a couple have "classic" migraines. My mother had atypical migraines without several of the "usual" migraine symptoms. When I mentioned my symptoms during a severe muscle tension headache, which included nausea, and extreme sensitivity to light and noise, the doctor said that was possibly migraine too, especially since they run in the family - and not everyone will have all the classic symptoms.

But if you rarely have headaches, it's probably just a one-off. I'd still want my doctor to know that it lasted 48+ hrs and didn't respond to OTC medication. There are other things you can take if these are more than occasional.

Good luck!
