For some reason I'm biting the inside of my lower lip when I eat.

don't know if teeth are shifting due to getting older or what it is, but, plenty painful and causing blister where I draw blood from the inside of your mouth before the lower lip.'

Do they make some kind of 'guard' that you can slip inside that area to train you to quit biting down there ?

I got dental appt in Sept. had this before it comes and goes , but, all Dentist says is he has no idea why I'm doing it. Shrugs it off.

I just had my dentist check my bite out. He had to shave a bit of tooth off since it slammed against the bottom tooth. This is the second time I've had to have it done. Could be tension, at night I don't think I grind, but they do have $tuff for that. I am fine now. Maybe he can check your bite. ?

for @SharkE

I also agree that u need to find a caring, competent dentist. Do u have crowns - which make the teeth taller - and it could get in the way. I have several crowns, and occasionally bite the inside of both cheeks. It was worse at one time, not as bad now.

The problem with teeth guards. If they make them for u - and u have dental work done, the guard won't fit. It's possible they now have sleep guards that are adjustable. If ur dentist has no idea what's causing ur problem - find a new dentist. Hopefully, the new dentist will know what to recommend. There's always an answer.

Dear Sharke:

GET ANOTHER DENTIST.......it is not unusual that your BITE will change with age, sleeping position, weight loss or gain, or almost any thing else. Even a new pillow can change the way your mouth/jaw is positioned when you sleep.........Get to a dentist/periodontist who will evaluate your 'mouth'. My darling husband had some dental work (minor) years ago but the dentist inserted a 'wedge' in order to get to his back teeth.....all his own and no extractions, immediately after this his jaw would 'click' when he was chewing his food, went to another dentist that said "his jaw was stretched".....but would not comment for fear of reprisal from the other local dentist......... Pay attention and get it taken care of. You will be in my prayers..............let us know what's going on!

Bet my jaw and teeth placement is changing I'm 65 and bottom teeth are leaning a tad, got plenty of room to move don't know why they have to try to overlap. Don't have any back teeth in the back on 1 side and a crown on the other side as the last tooth on that side.

I'm gonna look at the stores Mon.

Best thing for mouth care is Biotene I use that for cold sores, mouth irritations of any kind. Couldn't live without it. Peroxide, is what it is.
