Face lifts

I happened to look for Victoria Principal who was on Dallas ages ago. She got a face lift. Her cheeks were nice and puffy, but her eyes almost looked like they disappeared. Even if I could afford it, I don't think I'd choose to do that.

Would you if you could? Now Joan Rivers looked great, but I don't know if the majority of those who get it done, look quite right. There's some beautiful faces out there and I enjoy them wrinkles and all.

If I would ever choose to do anything I think it would be just a (simple) jowl-type lift. This could do me just fine. Reality for me though is, not doing anything.

If I had the money, I might do a chin lift, but not a face lift - I'm happy with my face. I agree that these women just don't look like themselves after having it done. Nicole Kidman's and Marie Osmond's faces look frozen when they talk. I see Neutrogena has made Nicole a spokesperson - I think it is bad advertising when you use someone who has had work done. I would rather see a few wrinkles, but a natural face. I see many women like Courtney Cox are admitting they didn't even recognize their own faces.

I never had a regular under-the-knife facelift so I can't compare the two @dex. Most of my friends did not notice right away...they just said I was looking good. One person who I hadn't seen in over fifteen years said: "You look the same, you haven't aged a bit." So I guess my "facelift" was natural-looking.

VP used to be married to a plastic surgeon.

If she is to be believed, Cindy Crawford had the right idea to start intensive skin care at a young age. That seems to be the secret. You can't hit 40 or 50 and expect to just turn back the clock with lifts, injections or surgery. You can, but it will be temporary.

I'd like to have my eyelids done. I may do it someday.

No down-time really, just a day or two of redness. But the thing is, this type of lift is a set of six treatments which are done once a month. So the whole thing takes six months to complete. But you can stop at any time if you see results you are looking for. It is not for everyone. People with light to moderate sagging are more likely to benefit from this type of lift and your dermatologist will be the one who can recommend your options.

It's a real shock when you see someone you haven't seen in awhile, and they've had a facelift. I noticed that recently with the woman who is the rep for Imperial Gold. She's been with them forever (I have several really old pieces I bought many years ago when it was still affordable). If I had not immediately recognized her voice, I might not have know it was the same woman. Mind you, she looked pretty good........just not the same person I remembered.

I certainly understand a person in the public eye needing to look good for their job, so I don't criticize what they choose to do. For me, I would never consider going under the knife, even if I could afford it. If I had the extra money, maybe I'd consider something less invasive, but I don't foresee even that as part of my future. IMO, even with a new face, there still are plenty of other telltale body markers that give away a person's age (hands, knees, flabby loose skin........you get the picture)!

I'm not in the public eye or ever have been. I did it for myself. Prior to my lift I had led a life of self-destruction and it took a really bad toll on my health and appearance. After I had cleaned up my act, I could not look at myself in the mirror without guilt and shame. My self-esteem was destroyed so I took drastic measures to change...for the better and for good. I am in a good place now!...tg.

I think a lot of older celebrities look G*d-awful due to too much or poor surgeries. VP is one.

@SilleeMee I'm glad you have improved your life as well as your self image........both of those things are vital to your health. I would never criticize you or anyone else for doing what makes them feel better about themselves.

I have done my best to take care of my body over the years, but my biggest enemy has probably been the sun (I spend a lot of time outdoors). Whenever someone I haven't seen for awhile says that I look great or that I haven't changed, I always wonder if they are thinking I may have had something done.

More power to those who have the ways and means to do a face lift. If I had a boat load of extra $$ I'd be getting my baggy eyes done and firming up my jowls. But I would certainly do my research first. I thought JR looked horrible with all her face lifts. Not a Joan fan anyway. Wonder how these celebrities end up with such freaky results with all the $$ they have.Do they not know how to do some research first? I guess more $$ than sense.
