Heartbleed Security Flaw

I'm sure all have heard about the security flaw leaving everyone vulnerable to identity theft and access to personal information. I have just learned that you can check the websites to see if you should change your passcodes and/or if the companies are in any way affected. Here is the link. QVC is at risk - please take caution until they address this concern.

I called my bank the day after Brian Williams made a pretty big deal out of this on NBC nightly news. The woman I got said "We just got an email on this, our bank is protected." Whatever that means. I have autopays all over the place, but I'm not panicking. This has evidently been a risk for 2 years, I'm gambling that Visa is true to their word. I guess I could take all of our money out of the bank, put it under the mattress, and have my idiot neighbor that leaves his burn barrel unattended burn my house down.

The link I posted will allow you to put in any website that you want to check its safety. There is also a list on CNET of all companies and whether they have patched their website or whether there is a potential security risk. I hope no one ever experiences identity theft - my identity was stolen 2 years ago and to this day I am in clean up mode. It is an awful experience especially when I, the victim, has to prove her identity. I sincerely hope no one ever has to go through what I did. I may be overly cautious, but I've been through the ringer
