Our Bose that is about 7 years old, turned it on today, and has no sound. You can hear that it is on, but no sound for radio and cd playing. Does anyone here no what it could be, maybe you have a suggestion on what to do to fix it. I thank you all for your time.

Call them. I believe they will help you. I had a problem once and sent the unit back to them, they fixed it and sent it back, and it didn't take long either.

I've never participated in the QVC Forum before, but today I was looking for a specific topic when I came across the question on a Bose system not working. I purchased the Bose Cinemate system about 7-8 years ago. It worked great until one day it stopped working. I called Bose and their customer couldn't have been better and the people were really nice. My unit will do this same thing every once in a great while so I just do what the Bose people told me to do back then when I called them. This is how they helped me solve my issue - If you unplug the electrical cord from the back of the Bose large unit piece (I cannot recall the official name of it right now) and leave it un-plugged for a minute or so and then plug it back in, this should fix the problem of you getting not sound from it. Have the system turned off when unplugging electrical cord. Once you plug cord back in to back of Bose unit, then you can turn it on. It should work fine again. I am not sure why this happens but it does. Better than the unit totally failing which I can't imagine with a Bose. I am a huge Bose fan - have it in my car, earbuds and then the Cinemate and all have worked great after many years. So try my suggestion and see if that solves the problem you are having. Good luck!! :-) (Since I am new to these boards, I see there are possibly others with name of "Annoymous". Please note that this is my first post and other posts listed under my 'name' are from others using same on-line name.)

Ladycd--As Annoymous suggested, unplugging your Bose for a minute or so may correct the problem. A few years ago (long after my warranty had expired), the clock on my Bose radio stopped keeping the correct time. The power had gone out and, for some reason (can't remember now), I didn't discover it for a day or two. I reset it, but the time kept messing up from then on. So, even though my warranty was long gone, I called Bose up, and they didn't hesitate at all to help me. All I had to do was just unplug it, and when I reconnected it, everything was fine again.

Just want to mention another possibility of what might be the problem, though I doubt it. Anyway, once in a while I accidentally hit the "aux" button on my remote which leaves the radio on but no sound coming out. As I said, I really doubt that's the problem, but thought I'd mention it just in case.

I have to say I love my Bose, too. Can't believe it's already about 18 years old and still going strong. Plus, I don't know what brand of batteries they use in the remote (never have had it opened), but after all these years, am still using the original ones.
