I'm running Firefox 26.0 I don't clear cookies and cache for 2 reasons: 1) I really don't know how and 2) it's my understanding ( or misunderstanding) that doing so erases all your saved passwords for your frequently visited website. obviously, I am no computer expert..

I have a MacBook Pro and use Firefox. recently I have been having an issue signing in to a website. when I put in my password and click submit, it keeps returning to the sign in page, asking me to enter my password. when I go to Safari I have no problem signing in using my password. I even logged in to this website using Safari and changed my password, thinking that it would solve the problem but when I went back to the website via Firefox I still could not sign in.

what's the diagnosis and the fix, please?

Hi, Mochahoney. I'm sorry you're having a problem. It would help to know which website, since it appears it's isolated to only one -- if you'd rather not say which one, can you access their "Contact Us" information to see if they're having a problem on their site? There's also a great website, GetHuman.com, that provides good contact info for companies and websites.

I suppose it could involve some of your Firefox preferences, or perhaps an add-on, but those likely would affect more than one website login.

There's probably something else I'm not thinking of... maybe other posters could add more ideas.
