Immediate Apple Price Increase

Apple increased their prices on many devices effective immediately by $100 to $200 because of increased memory and storage prices. If anyone has been thinking about buying a Neo, Macbook Air, Macbook Pro, their cheapest iPad, the iPad mini, iPad Pro, iPad Air, Apple TV4K, or iMac, you'd better buy it now before prices increase in the stores and on the websites.

The Apple website is already showing the new prices. I have been considering a Neo. Costco, Best Buy, and Amazon were still showing the old price as of 5am, but when I checked Amazon at 5:30am, the silver Neo (what I wanted) had sold out in the configuration I wanted. By that time, I had already purchased it from Costco, because their Apple Care package was cheaper than Amazon's, plus I could use credit card points on it.

iPhones, AirPods, nor the Apple watch increased in price.

I purchased the basic Neo at Costco this morning before it increases.

This chip increase cars and appliances.

Memory and storage prices have gone insane due to everyone building data centers. The Lexar 1 TB SSD I bought back in October for $69.99 now sells for $224.99. RAM prices are absolutely insane. It's great if you're a manufacturer of RAM or SSDs as you can charge whatever price you want, and the idiots buying for the data centers will pay it. It's brutal if you're a hobbyist trying to build a computer.

There's going to be a crash in the data center market model pretty soon. How many does anyone need? They're costing a fortune to build and even more to operate, and the supply will soon vastly outstrip the demand. When the crash comes, the prices will return to a saner level. A data center has to make money to stay open, and how many will?

Give it a year or two, and things should even out. If you don't mind buying slightly used hardware, there's apt to be a heck of a glut of used components when those places start going out of business.

I think watch and phones have not gone up. But a warning not to wait like I have been doing. My watch is the oldest in the update line. Not sure about the phone.😬

Glad I bought the latest Ipad last year!! And not in the market for a laptop altho I would love to have one. And I heard that iphones are not affected ---yet--- but I don't usually buy the newest one. Am on my iphone 15. Wonder if this will really effect much--Apple lovers are pretty tenacious

I use several Apple products but am not currently in the market for upgrades. Really annoying to see EVERYTHING go up in price continuously.

I'm due for a new phone. I have the Apple 13 Pro. To me it's really heavy. I always carry it in my purse or my pocket. Next time I am going to get either the 17 E or the 18 E. I don't need three cameras like the 13 Pro. I rarely if ever use the macro lens. I just would like a basic phone. My phone doesn't stay charged very much anymore, and true to Apple form, the batteries die out after 4 to 5 years.

@Laura14 Me too! Guess my birthday came at a good time. My daughter got me a new one in April and I am very happy she did before the increase. My old one is at least 10 years old and on it's last leg.

Am upgrading too, probably to a Pro...I like a BIG phone. Either to a 17 or 18 coming out this fall. The thing about iPhones, Apple products, my experience...last forever and have never had issues with any of my products, ever. Lucky, yes...but you get what you pay for, your money's worth.

I ordered the newest iPad 11 on HSN with accessories as a gift to me. I have two of the iPad 10 gen. One of my grandkids needs one so I will pass one to them. I put away money for a newer one and glad I ordered before the increase started.

I bought a new HP laptop a few weeks ago and saw I use my iPads more. I returned my laptop.I had also bought one for my daughter a HP same laptop as hers was was failing. She was happy with hers as she uses for work.

I have been retired for several years and enjoying my time.
I have never been dissatisfied with Apple products. I have an iPhone 11 I bought through Tracfone. We don't use a cell phone much and the iPhone works great. I buy the year card and it lasts us all year.

I hope everyone gets their iPads what they can before the increase.
