I've had my IMac for a couple of years but really haven't gotten into iPhoto. I have some pictures in it, but really want to do an album and have discovered I don 't know much. I got the dummy books and they talk about I photo 11 and ILike, but when I go to Apple support all they have is iPhoto 9.1.5 and there are many complaints. Don't what to do? Thanks for any suggestions

I'm confused. Do you already own iPhoto or are you looking to buy it? If you already have it, I would Google search for some tutorials, including the search terms tutorial, iphoto, and the version information. (Example: tutorial iphoto 9)

If you are willing to pay, Lynda.com is a subscription service with excellent tutorials on Photoshop, iPhoto, and other programs.

Screencastsonline.com is a great resource for Mac training videos. He is a guy out of the UK and I have learned so much from him on both Mac and iOS. He just recently did a series on iPhoto, with the updated version from the mavericks rollout. The videos are not free. Not sure if you have to subscribe to his site, or can purchase the lessons one by one? But check out his site. Screen casts online, all one word, dot com. For me it was money well spent as I was learning the Mac interface.

Another option, the apple store holds free classes. One of the classes they offer is iPhoto. If you have an apple store near you, logon to apple.com, search for your store, then look to see what the schedule of their classes are. You can sign up online. I think the classes are one hour sessions? This is different from the one on one sessions held at the apple store, where that is a paid session. Be sure to look for the free classes.

I was just about to type the same information as Lynn. I went to the local Apple store for an iPhoto workshop. They're free, an hour long & extremely helpful. The instructor spent most of the hour showing us how to create an album.

Chris Breen has a series entitled Mac 101 that includes several entries on iPhoto. The first one is on August 15 and I believe there's 8 entries.....one a week. http://www.macworld.com/column/mac-101/?start=21
