topic Dell Cleaning Out Computer? in Electronics

I've been having problems that I cannot fix. I talked to a Comcast guy who knows a lot about computers. I told him the problems I was having and he said as long as my computer is under warranty I should call Dell and ask them to clean out my computer. I know I do have some registery problems.

My question is if any of the information I have on my computer will be deleted. I think the hotmail will not but was wondering if Word will be. I have most of the things in folders but not all. Is there anything I have to do before I let them take over my computer?

They cleaned out my desktop years ago but I don't remember what I had to do before.
