Brother's printer and new MacBook

My new Mac does recognize the printer but I cannot get the printer to connect to WIFI. I have tried EVERYTHING the manual said to do. Any suggestions????

Have you checked to see if there are some updates to download? There also may be a download specifically for your computer's OS, but that shouldn't keep it from connecting to the wifi I don't think.

@bargainsgirl. I have trouble with my printers too. I have two brand new ones and they both get the message to print, paper run through but they're blank, on two different machines. I just read that an ad blocker can interfere and to disable it while printing. I haven't tried that yet.

Have you tried these steps:

To connect your Brother printer to Wi-Fi, follow these steps:

Power On: Connect the power cord to your Brother printer and plug it into an electrical socket.
Access Network Menu: Press the Menu button on the printer's control panel, then use the Up or Down arrow key to select Network and press OK.
Select WLAN: Again, use the Up or Down arrow key to select WLAN and press OK.
Connect to Wi-Fi: Follow the on-screen instructions to select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password if prompted.
Confirm Connection: Once connected, you can print a network configuration page to confirm the connection.
For more detailed instructions, you can refer to the official Brother support page.

If everything else fails, I would contact Brother Printer Service or Mac Book. There might be something you are missing.

I have Apple products and remember how difficult it was to connect my printer to them.

I had to use an hdmi cord to connect my laptop. The phone automatically worked after that.

The other option is to ask a friend who is a wizard with these things to help... or call the Geek Squad to come out and hook it up.

Printers have been around since the dawn of computing and have been a headache the whole time. You would think that at some point the issues would all get ironed out, but no.

Brother has a fairly detailed help section on their website that may be of some help.

Which model Brother printer do you have? Is it an "old" model? Age?

Have you confirmed that your model printer is compatible with the Mac's OS?

Which model MacBook do you have? OS is it using?

Need to know EVERYTHING you did to troubleshoot. Did the manual have separate instructions for Macs?

Need this info to prevent the "been there done that" scenario(s). As it stands, it's unclear what steps you may have missed or tried that has/has not already been fonted in this thread.

UPDATE: Today I finally got things running. Turned out the soft ware in the printer needed upgrading. Simple fix but it took me awhile to figure it out!!
