TracFone & Hearing Aid bluetooth pairing

Anyone have a Tracfone and able to pair their hearing aids?
I just got new Jabra hearing aids from Costco and I only upgraded for the bluetooth ability. But, it doesn't work! I have last years model of Moto G from Tracfone.

The audiologist said I may need to upgrade my phone, VERY frustrating as I just shelled out money for the dang hearing aids!! This technology stuff gets expensive, you have to have the "latest & greatest" or things stop working! Who can afford to upgrade every year!

Sorry for my frustration So, I'm wondering if you have hearing aids & use Tracfone, which phone do you have that will work with pairing bluetooth with hearing aids?

I'd try giving TRACFONE a call. There is a "possibility" they can make the connection for you. (Although...I can barely understand those folks.)

I googled "tracfone model compatible with hearing aids" and it gave me a link to tracfone wireless site with lists of compatible phones (there are many).

I guess there are many models of "Moto G" phones so you would have to be more specific on your model, i.e., Moto G Stylus 5G 2024, Moto G Play 2023, etc.

What I found interesting is tracfone sells apple iphone se 3rd generation for 189 which is compatible with hearing aids.

Just for curiosity, I checked to see if my iphone 13 is compatible with hearing aids by going to settings - accessibility - and under hearing there is hearing devices.

I have tracfone Samsung Galaxy A13 5G , Model name SM-S136DL. Audiologist paired my phone with hearing aids, using the hearing aid brand name app. Good Luck!

Thank you! Did you get your phone from one of the shopping channels? I may have to look at changing phones, hopefully I can get one decently priced.

Got my phone from either QVC or HSN. Sorry cannot remember which. You probably already did this, but check the app store for the name of your hearing aid.

I have the 2023 moto g power. Under settings>accessibility>hearing aids, it shows I have none connected. When I clicked on hearing aids, another screen popped up. When I clicked on it, it found the other items in the house that have Bluetooth turned on. So I assume my phone would connect to hearing aids just fine.

@Ainhisg Thank you. I tried this and mine doesn't have "hearing aids" so I guess mine isn't compatiable. I wish I had known all this before buying a new phone.

If it's within 30 days of purchase, you can return your current phone. The moto g power is on a Black Friday sale right now on the Q for less than $100.

Which model Moto G do you have?

Tracfone shows Moto G Power 2023 does work with hearing aids.

The one I have is item# E236426

I have Jabra Hearing aids from Costco, on their site there is only one Moto G listed and it's Moto G7. So, I'm assuming its not going to be compatible. I have 6 months to return the hearing aids, I wonder if one of their other brands would be compatible.

@SandGirl Be sure you're going to the settings within your phone app, rather than the phone's system settings. The system settings also have "accessibility," where you can access audio or hearing, but there's nothing regarding hearing aids. Doing the same via the Phone app allows you to toggle on "hearing aid compatibility."

I just checked my 2021 Moto Stylus 5g and my LG which is even older, and the option to turn on hearing aid compatibility is there--but, again, in the phone app's settings not in the system's hearing/audio accessibility settings (and searches don't direct you to app settings, either).

@Moonlady for the life of me I can't figure out what you mean. I know know one area for settings and its not there. I checked the app for my hearing aids itself and couldn't find anything either. I guess I'm just confused. I tried to search on my phone but nothing came up for hearing aids. This is so frustrating.

Oh I found "similar" in the Moto G Sylus App on my phone but for hearing aids it says Settings - Accessibility and turn on hearing aids BUT it shows a little picture, this is just so you can hold the phone up to your hearing aids to hear better, this DOES NOT enable bluetooth capatibility.

@SandGirl What is your model number of your phone? Go to settings> about phone. I found this website that might be useful: gari.info

Have you tried reinstalling your app? Turning bluetooth on/off? Restarting your phone?

FYI: I do not have any experience with hearing aids.

@Runner26 I tried ALL of that with the hearing aid specialist by my side. He said my phone is not capatible when we looked it up on the hearing aid brand site that I have. He's been doing the job for 26 years so I trust he knows what he is doing. I think my only option if I want to use bluetooth will be to upgrade my phone. Just don't want to do that yet, not like new phones are cheap!
