I know I am old, can't figure out how to set a clock

I realized today that I did not change the time on the clock in my car from day light savings time.

Spent time looking how I could change the time on the clock. Pushed lots of buttons on the car but none of them were the right ones.

So I pulled out the owners manual (464 pages). Finally found the page regarding setting the time on the car's clock. It stated "go to the Multi-Media manual".

When I got the car I got 4 different owners manuals. And of course that is the one I can't find. I know "someone" looked at the manuals when I got the car. Now I can't find it.

It is pretty pathetic that I am unable to change the time on my clock in my car. I bought the same model of car that I previously drove. Except this one is newer.

I have the feeling I am too old to own this car. There are too many unknowns that I have not figured out. Really, I can't figure out how to change the hour on a clock? Bet if I ask the 15 year old neighbor, they would have no trouble.

Have you made sure it didn't set itself.😳 the car I have now does it automatically. If not, might be easier to Google it. And you are not pathetic just old like me😍

This ^. Most cars within the last 10 or 15 years change their time automatically. If your car didn't, it may be even easier to check you tube for a quick video on how to do it. Much easier for me than trying to read a manual.

There's no way I can keep up with all those manuals and I usually throw them away. I would never read them all. I don't have 6 months for each one. So, I toss them and use YOUTUBE. How to set the clock on my 2024 RAV4 Toyota (I am just using that one as an example). But that might help you. I have repaired my washer which the company wanted $500 just to come look at it and I have repaired my dryer and my dishwasher and then found out one dishwasher was totally gone without having to have a repair person charge me an arm and leg, by contacting YOUTUBE on these manuevers. If I didn't know how to do that, it's what I would do. Sometimes all you have to do is ask Google.

@drizzellla Did you puy your car from the dealer? iI so just take it in and I am sure that they will reset it for you at no charge.

Lol, I can relate. I struggled to set my clock, too. So, after finally getting it set, I decided to never change it again. I just have to remind myself when we've sprung forward, or backward. I've gotten used to it being right only a few months in the year. Better things to do than mess with that clock.

It's not you...it's all the folks who choose different processes to do the most mundane things...usually the dumbest, not intuitive approach.

Simple: go to Google and ask How to change Clock on Year / Model / Style car. It will give you simple steps.

My experience with car search problem on Google- true story, DH tells it to everybody!

We were getting ready for our Night #1 stay enroute to Naples, FL. Our hotel was across the street from the gas station stop, so we got gas and would be able to get right on Interstate 95 in AM. As we were pulling out to cross to hotel, the siren started its nonstop wailing.

He drove around the building to no avail. After lugging in the suitcases and cooler for our dinner, he went back out and checked everything he could think of, each time doing a test drive around the lot. When he came in to the room, I told him how I had googled the 2022 Toyota Sienna van and found the problem.

Of course he laughed and said " Right ! ". Well, he went out to the car and tried the often-repeated suggestion. He came back in and was all smiles: It and I were right !!!

If he hadn't found the solution, we would have been looking at waiting two days until Monday when the dealership's service department would be open ( and more hotel expense ) !

Google is always there must put in the question. The manual for the van didn't have the answer. There should have been a lighted icon on the dashboard to say " Hood not completely closed "........In the dark, the gas compartment opener and the hood are side by side and no light to see if you hit the wrong one as well as no icon.

I feel the same way about a lot of things. I had to replace the battery to my car key fob so I went to YouTube and put in the make & model of the car. Step by step directions were very easy to follow.

You might find the same for a car clock.

I actually forgot about changing my clock in my car until today when I happened to look at the clock as I was driving and noticed the wrong time ! That's also a part of aging ! When I stopped I hit the clock button on the dashboard display and changed the time. A screen came up with a arrow to move the time up or down. I have a 2013 Equinox. Hope you were able to set your clock or found your car's info on YouTube as someone mentioned.

just search for "how to change clock on a 2025 Rolls Royce" or what ever your car is

Cell phone is your friend for time. It resets itself automatically as does your computer. Of course, computer doesn't go everywhere you go but if you are like me, your phone does.

I thought of that. BUT I ordered the car with one salesman. I had to wait over a month for the car to arrive. Then when the car came in, the salesman that took my order was no longer with the dealership. So another salesman "helped" me. (He was no help at all). He was busy with another person buying a car. It took over 6 hours to walk out with my car.

It seems no matter what I need done at the dealership - recall or oil change - it takes 3-4 hours. I can't help but think I will be wasting an afternoon on a 3 minute fix.

That is what I could do with my old car. Push a button right next to the clock display. One button was for minutes. One button for hours.

That seemed so reasonable but now I have to use the "infotainment screen".

Select “SETUP” > “GENERAL” > “Clock” from the on-screen menu.

And then cycle through the hours and minutes.

Some new cars have a Daylight Savings option to turn off or on, so some don't automatically set depending on your setting.

When I have any questions about my car I do as others have suggested, do a Google search.

When my mom first got her push start car she couldn't figure out why the trunk kept popping open on the freeway. Her purse was in the trunk and the key was in her purse happily opening the trunk on the freeway. You don't need the key to open the trunk if the key is near the trunk, in case you didn't know.
