My new TV (as of September) is a TCL QLED, their 6 series (TCL 65Q650G to be precise.). It's great. It was on sale for $348 for the 65" model. The extra money for an OLED just didn't make sense to me. OLED gives you blacker blacks and wider viewing angles, but I sit directly in front of the TV so the viewing angle didn't matter to me and the blacks are fine. The cheapest OLED 65" was twice the price of the one I bought and it's not hard to spend ten times as much ($3500) on an OLED 65" set.

You'll see some good prices for Black Friday so if you can wait a few weeks (Walmart's Black Friday pricing will start on 11/11 believe) you might be able to save quite a bit of money.

Because of the cost. And we don't enough room. Our TV is set in the middle of a big book case. It's a nice TV, but not like the OLED. A few brands make them smaller then 50". But I wanted the Samsung.

Did you know that the lifespan of OLED TVs can be extended if you turn down the brightness level and also don't use vivid color settings. The brightness on OLEDs is so bright that you really don't need the brightness level set much past 50%. One of the biggest complaints about OLED TVs is that the screens can get burn in and that's b/c of the brightness and contrast settings are set too high. Some people feel that having such a bright and vivid screen is the reason why they bought an OLED to begin with so why spoil the fun?!

@SurferWife

I did look at the OLEDs and the store didn't have a 65" on the floor. they had a much larger one. It did have a beautiful picture but I would of liked to see what a normal station would show but stores don't do that. I'm trying to block the bluelight from tvs and computer. I use my computer on nightlight. The employee told me that LG had the first OLED and they have updated their tvs more than the other brands. I did look at the samsung also but they pretty much all look the same in a store. I have always reset my tvs for color when I got them. My 40" Sony has a great picture and it's about 15 years old but it's too small for the family room. Right now the newer Sony is in the family room. Can't watch a movie with darkness in it because it's hard to see characters. My news stations and regular movies are fine as long as they aren't dark. GH isn't good on this tv so have to watch it on the 40". I have decided to wait closer to Black Friday and the holidays to see if it's on sale. Not in a hurry but so done with this tv. Probably will keep it as a backup or give it away. Back in the day it was so easy to buy one.
