BUYER BE AWARE

The iMac 27" computer being shown on the home page is an old machine. Apple discontinued it a couple years ago. As far as I know, the Operating System cannot be upgraded to the latest version because the computer has an Intel Chip which Apple no longer uses. They are not available on the Apple Refurbished website.

I have no idea where these came from. I doubt they are a value at any price.

That's not true. I have an older iMac and I'm able to upgrade the OS.

There's all kinds of computers for sale all over the place with old specs. Watch what you buy. Know what you need moving forward with the coming changes.

I wish Windows 12 would come out this year. I want to buy a new computer but I don't want 11. My younger sister thinks she has a hacker causing her problems. It's not a hacker.

Old specs aren't necessarily bad. I build my computers and nearly never use brand-new components that have just hit the market. If you wait six months or a year or more, the bugs will have been found and worked out. The latest and greatest is often the least tested and buggiest. Give a new component six months to a year and you should be more informed on what you're truly getting. The mad rush to get a new CPU or GPU often finds you as the beta tester for those items. I prefer things to be a tad more stable. Get a third or fourth-generation BIOS or firmware and you'll avoid a lot of trouble.

I hated Windows 11 so much on my new Dell laptop that I bought a Macbook Air when the Dell died after 5 months. Love the Macbook Air - worth every penny.

Elderly and non-tech. I have HP desktop about 5 years old running windows 10. It tells me it is not able to updated to windows 11. I am just fine with 10 because use it only for online shopping. Well I just received notice that windows 10 will stop being supported on October 14, 2025. So will I need to buy a new windows 11 desktop before then, or will I still be able to use my windows 10 and maybe try to wait for 12? I have Trend Micro security on my 10 and have had BestBuy Total Tech since buying my 10, but total tech is not much good anymore because so many services like free installation and geek guy coming to home to set up computer have all been eliminated for the almighty dollar. Technology is not easy for some of us old folks.

That's terrible. I have an older Dell desktop with Windows 10 - no problems. Altho lately I can't use Chrome - have to use Edge. I don't use it much though - it was my husband's computer.

I got the same notice on my eight year old laptop. I'm not too concerned. I use my iPad for most things anyway.

Windows 10 will still work, there just won't be any more security updates.

I read somewhere customers could buy one more year of security updates for $70 dollars.

I would look online for information about additional security updates , or wait to buy a new computer after October 2025.
