I had forgotten about them until you posted this. Taking photos involved a lot of moving parts. Somehow we always managed to run out of the cubes before the last few exposures on the film were used.

Never used them. Had an SLR, and used "available light" and "time" shots!

Remember them well. They could explode: one did as a nun was snapping a picture. A spark landed on the white celluloid bib of her habit and she was badly burned. They were then forbidden to use that type camera.

Yes, I remember taking pictures using those flash cubes with my INSTAMATIC camera. There was a lever you had to slide over to advance the film inside to take the next picture....CLICK...FLASH!

My cats thought these were excellent toys. If I ever get someone to move our very heavy couch, I would not be surprised to find one or more hidden underneath.

Yes! I seem to remember more than one Instamatic camera in my past. And of course, the flash cubes.
