Need help looking for a computer.

Hi Y'all . Trying to help DH and he is frustrated .

DH needs a new desktop computer and needs just the tower. He prefers Windows10. Looking for Lenovo or HP. Requesting : 1 TB, SSD, 16 GBHD. I am clueless on this. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Check to see if you have a local store; possibly someone who does computer repairs who may have what your husband is looking for, or go to Staples.

Windows 10 is very old technologies and Windows 10 will reach end of support on October 14, 2025.

Also Lenovo which is a Chinese multinational technology company specializing in designing, manufacturing, and marketing consumer electronics, personal computers, software, business solutions, and related services.

I wouldn't buy something that old. I don't think you can buy a new machine that has Windows 10 since Windows 11 is current.

i would look at HP or something else.

@RedTop : He has called a computer repair place and waiting for them to return his call to schedule appointment.

Even if MS is "ending support" in 2025, your pc will still work. I have a laptop with Windows 7 Vista and it runs fine. I kid you not. 😁

You could always check eBay for a refurbished unit.

One note about HP, I saw a laptop on HSN for dirt cheap but it specified that MS Office subscription was required or the laptop won't operate?

@Snowpuppy : DH prefers a computer. I found a HP refurbished on EBay for $187 but Dh is afraid to try it.

Editing to add: just found another one on EBay for $137 and DH said he would consider this one.

I was lucky and got the last HP Slim Desktop Tower at Walmart, it cost about $400, suits all my needs, and it's easy to use.

Might want to try your local Walmart, they also sell different towers on walmart.com

I'm 68 and my husband is 69. We just bought a new HP earlier this year from Costco.

I bought my Renewed HP tower from Amazon! Prices are good!

Click on "Deals", then "Renewed."

Very pleased with it!

DELL website for towers only......lots there. I was just checking b/c my Dell is old but no problems ......still going strong (10 years)

I wouldn't consider a pre-owned re-firb'd computer ever....HP has shoved DELL back so folks think it's no longer around = not true!

Same here, will never purchase Dell again, too many problems.

And I only buy new HP.

I just bought a new HP All-In-One desktop with 1T SDD and 16GB RAM. I like not having a tower. It's very minimal. It's very fast and the screen is big (22").

Expert set everything up for DH but still had problems..

@SouthernBee How about asking local library or church--some libraries teach computer classes and the instructor might help you.

Some churches have tech people who also might be able to help you find what you need.

Also local Vo-Tech might have someone clued in in your area about what is available!
