I have 2 7- inch tablets that are probably 6ish years old. Never use. Before I recycle them do I only need to deregister them to safely discard? That will not affect my current Fire 10 correct?

I would also make sure that it was set back to factory settings before deregistering from your Amazon account.

If you plan to buy a Amazon device, they could be used an trade-in. You can keep them associated with your account.
