    <description>&lt;P&gt;Thank you so much.   When I worked at a hospital the main computer for all the branch hospitals was at the head office in another city.  So I guess that was the server for all the branch hospital computers.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I'm no expert but...&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;A server links computers and processes information between them.&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;If you have a computer system at work, they are all linked to a common server...and can compute and share information just to other computers in that group.&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;Servers are used to process credit card payments...they swipe your card, it is processed by a server for the CC Company, and the money is deposited in the business account.&lt;/P&gt; &lt;P&gt;Web servers connect us to the internet - like cable, AOL, Verizon. There are companies that set up server systems for businesses.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
