One more Kindle/airplane question

How is a Kindle Fire HD treated as I go through security? Do I have to pull it out of my carryon and show it separately or will it sail through as long as it's in airplane mode? It's been so long since I flew that I can't even remember about my smartphone let alone the tablet which is newish. TIA because I can't find it on my airline's website.

All airports are different I've found. The last time I flew, I didn't have to pull it out. I'm sure I didn't have it in airplane mode either. I just power it off when they say turn your electronics off.

TY - I'll just turn it off and carry it zipped into my carryon.

I've always been able to go through with my "reader" in my carry on. The first time thru I did show it to the TSA people and asked. They said, no problem, leave it off and after that I've always done that.

I just don't turn on the wifi part when I'm on the plane.

I have never had to take my iPad mini out of my bag, going thru security, and it's always turned on. On the plane, when it can be on, I have it in airplane mode.

By the way, I flew at Christmas (SW Airlines) and learned that you no longer have to turn tablets off during take-off and landing. Only PCs must be turned off.

Mine went in my carry-on in a zipped up pouch (Vera Bradley). No problem. And I do fly SW and they did not have any issues with it when I was on the plane. Love South West.

Just before Christmas our whole family... That is... Our children

their spouses and our grand children flew on Delta... My

husband and one daughter put their iPads in the bins, all the others

kept theirs in their carry on luggage...
