Gmail question

Over the last few months, after having gmail for 20 years, I've started getting spam emails telling me I've won something or they need to confirm my address for delivery on something I haven't bought or some other lame thing. I just send them to junk but they keep coming. Several on most days. I've spent hours online trying

things that are suggested but nothing works.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Below is an edited sample:

This is clearly junk/spam. How can you stop them? You can't and I woudn't waste too much time and energy worrying about them. I am surprised they come in your inbox though. I get this sort of thing too but it goes into the junk folder directly. I also have gmail.

I woudn't even open them. Certainly do not click on any links in the emails.

I have found gmail better at blocking than hotmail. But after a while they find you.

Set up a new address, or better yet, several. I joke that I send all the yahoos to yahoo. True!

I thought everyone was subjected to spam/scams. I don't think it can be stopped...I just delete and move on.

That's the weird thing. I get way more that go directly to my junk folder. I can't figure out how these get through. And to send it to junk , you have to click on it. I think I'll just start deleting them.

@Bridgegal I have gmail and the fact that these spam emails go directly into the spam folder is a big plus for me. Doesn't clutter up my inbox. Every so often I go to the "spam" folder and delete the entire thing. No big deal and I don't think anyway to prevent receiving spam.

When I activated a new Amazon Fire tablet last December, the quantity of my junk mail suddenly quadrupled overnight. This tablet, which QVC sells in great quanity, is a piece of junk fit only for kids. Don't buy one.

I am having the same thing happening to me also. All of a sudden for the past week, junk mail is going into both my inbox and junk folders and I have no idea why this has started. I have AOL and it has always separated those two with no problems. It bugs me too, but haven't any idea on how to correct this either. Any others out there experiencing this too? Thanks for any help!
