Is there a limit on how many past texts can be left on the phone before new ones will appear? If so, what's the magic number? I get texts fine from spammers and a 'seldom use it' person but don't seem to be getting ones from a more frequent user. Anyone know what the issue might be and how to resolve it? tia

Thanks for the replies. Rebooting pulled up a few but I think there's still more missing. I also deleted some past texts but would prefer not to do that. Anyway, I guess I'll restart the phone regularly (didn't know you needed to do that).

Pretty much anything with a computer chip in it benefits from an occasional reboot. The internal programs in a computer (firmware) often go a bit wonky over time due to outside interference. By shutting down and restarting you load a fresh copy of that software, and the device is back to normal.

At the heart of any device with a computer chip is code that's either a one or a zero, meaning there's voltage or not. If a bit of static electricity, a stray voltage, or something else changes a few of those zeros to ones or ones to zeros, the functionality of the device can go haywire. A reboot often fixes problems that crop up. Most devices look for issues and fix them as they pop up, but from time to time they miss a few and as those accumulate, things can go haywire.
