I'm looking for a TV with DVD that is moderately priced, any suggestions?

Have you looked at Amazon.com or local stores? Not too many TV/DVD combo units are made these days.

You can find many moderate priced LED TV's online. I would look for a Samsung, or LG. I then would find a Blu-Ray player. You need to make sure the TV has at least 2 HDMI connectors for a cable box, and a Blu-Ray player.

In my experience I would not recommend it. My dvd player broke (I don't know why), send it to fix it, don't know what they did but it never worked again. Since the TV works fine I ended up buying a blue ray player. Just my opinion based on my experience.

Plus, you get so much more. I got my first blu-ray player recently (Sony) and it has all the apps (Netflix, Amazon video incl/Prime, and a zillion more I don't use) AND built-in wifi. It was $55 well spent. While you're at it, you can play your DVDs with it and get a better picture to boot.

I'd rather do that than get a tv with a built-in dvd player at this point. I do have two TVs with built-in DVD players but they are just little 15" TVs - one for my desk and one in my kitchen. For that purpose they are great. But, for a larger tv, like a bdrm or living room TV, I wouldn't bother. Separate components will give you a lot more.

My son was manager of an electronics department in college. He got me a Vizio LCD TV.

Vizio is an American owned company out of CA. Their LCD TVs are made by LG (a more expensive brand name!) They make quality affordable TVs.

If you have cable, remember you will need an HD box to get the HD channels! I suggest you just get an HD DVR to go with an HD TV.

Even very good DVD players don't cost a lot anymore!

I also recommend going with separate components. Connecting the two is a breeze these days (one HDMI cable) and gives you a lot more versatility.

I had a DVD get stuck in ours, PITA. Luckily it was one of mine, not a loaner.

I would get separate (we got the one we did because of the size of the cupboard ), DVD players are inexpensive now and if one goes you wont end up having to replace both.

We bought a TV/DVD combo many years ago. It's about 12 inches. We bought it to take it in our camper. Now, it's our bedroom TV- hooked to a cable box. The biggest pain is that you need two remote controls. The cable remote does not control volume, so you have to use the remote that came with the TV. I keep losing and dropping them.

I like the sounds of Chickenbutt's Blu-ray unit. I wonder if it has Wi-Fi, can you send whatever you're viewing on the computer to the TV?

You can only do that if your computer is connected to the TV. If you have a Mac and Apple TV, you can use Airplay and watch what's on iTunes through the TV.
