@KayinMN , First make sure your battery is charged, then press the top button and hold in till Apple screen comes on.

@KayinMN @QVCkitty1 @@She is correct. Just fully charge your new iPad, turn it on and it will walk you through everything! There isn't any paper instruction books for iPads!

Where did you buy it? You should have asked for and gotten some "new user" help before you went home. I think it comes with some kind of quick start guide. If not, go to the Apple website and get the User Guide there.

Apple provides a one year warranty on an iPad which includes 90 days of phone support.

I got it on the TSV at QVC.....They also skipped that step....

@KayinMNThat's the problem when you buy computer products from a TV Shopping Channel. That's one reason why I never even consider it.

You do get 90 days of tech support from Apple. Call the phone number and ask for some help. You might also want to consider Apple Care to extend your tech service beyond the original 90 days.

QVC is a retailer not tech support. There are plenty of videos and articles you can access to show you how to use your device. Too many people who post on this board assume, and assume wrong, everyone lives near an Apple store. The closest one to me is more than 150 miles away. But, they are available either through a chat or phone call.

As posted, you get tech support for your device for a limited period of time. Use it if it hasn't lapsed. Setting up a device is easy. Each device will walk you through it by asking questions and you provide the answers such as your name and time zone. The hardest for most is connecting to your secure network/router . That is usually because people don't know their password. Apple care, or any other tech support, can tell you where to look but, they won't know your password. Good luck.
