Sprint T-Mobile Question

I've been w/Sprint for 20 yrs. T-Mobile now owns Sprint, my contract is up w/Sprint. Has anyone w/Sprint experienced the transition to T-Mobile? My Sprint app doesn't work anymore; bottom line bye bye Sprint. I frequently visit rural Nebraska & T-Mobile has great coverage there. Got an appt at T-Mobile tomorrow. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

@BornToShop I've been a T-Mobile customer for over 20 YEARS and I couldn't be happier with their CS. They are U.S. based and everytime I've needed their assistance they go above and beyond my expections for service.

I just switched over to T-Mobile from AT&T because they have excellent plans for age 55 and over customers. I am very happy with their service and they actually have customer service you can speak with.

My husband and I are on their Magenta Plus plan which is unlimited data, text and calls for $70.00 a month, including all taxes and fees. I was paying almost that much for my husband's line with AT&T and every time he had a text in or out that was not from an AT&T account it was an additional 20 cents. That adds up quickly especially when used in business whereas that seems to be the preferred way of communication on job sites today.

No regrets, wish I had done it much sooner!

I'm also considering moving away from Sprint.

I've been with Sprint for many years, ever since they acquired Nextel (which was really good for that time!). For all these years, Sprint has been fine so I haven't gone through the hassle of moving.

But ever since they joined T-Mobile there are many negative changes. Plus, try calling them and you just get krap.

The only thing I'd hate is if I went somewhere else and they killed my phone number. I've had that number since 1994 and would want to keep it but I fear them saying 'oh sure, you can keep your #' and then something goes wonky and you can't do it, then there is no getting it back.

Bottom line - I'm still seriously considering moving. Things were just fine before this merging. AFAIK about the different services, the only one I know at this point I would NOT choose would be ATT.

I subscribe to a YouTube channel run by Stetson Doggett. His videos are all about wireless data plans. People buy all types of pre-paid plans.

Verizon introduced a new plan a few months ago.

Verizon owns a second company Visible.

@chickenbutt I also have had the same number for about 20 years. I called T-Mobile yesterday and they said it will be a matter of time that Sprint will be completely gone. I am currently doing extensive research on Verizon and T-Mobile. So far, the consensus is Verizon is the best but a bit pricier. Verizon gets bad reviews in my area for poor customer service at their stores; where T-Mobile gets great reviews on their stores customer service. I'm not sure at this point which I will go with.

Thanks! Actually, Verizon is probably one I would choose. I haven't seen any stats lately but, over many years, they were the ones with the highest customer satisfaction for many years.

I've never done any kind of pre-paid and it's also annoying that I probably can't take my current phone with me. I don't want a new phone.

It's really annoying when a company goes bad.

What a hassle, eh?

Well, I'm glad some people are liking T-Mobile. After making the last call I made for some info and the guy called me a liar, I'm still miffed and having other problems crop up has been a bit of a pain.

I would have thought Sprint was larger that TM, and when the merger happened it would come out as Sprint. Oh well, I have one foot out the door, just working on all the outlying situations I will probably have to deal with to change. Phones cost a lot of money and I usually keep mine for quite a few years to get my money's worth. I paid just short of $600 for my phone around 5-7 years ago (can't remember, but it's been a while).

I have been a Verizon customer since 2003.

The service is excellent and a bit pricey. I say, it is what it is.

VZW offers customers a number of promotions, and discounts. You can find these on the lower right front page under the brochures tab.

Samsung I like:

Note 20 ultra This phone has a very fast processor and 12 GB of RAM. It can a large database like my 6000 emails.

These are two mid-priced phones that are very similar in size with different processors and amounts of memory.

Sakitech and Nick Ackerman are YouTube channel I follow.

I brought a phone in March and during the summer I was reading about a security feature placed in all Verizon smartphones. The phone received a small switch to keep someone from stealing my number and identity.

Please ask about this security feature when buying a pre-paid plan vs a post-paid.

I just do not know a great deal about iPhones. Most YouTube tech channels feature idevices.
