Have to wonder if a virus hit you ? I know my old Dell had a virus. I took it to Best Buy and they fixed it for me.

You can do a forced restart.
First, close all the tabs. Then, hold down the power and home buttons until you see the Apple logo. Then, let the device reboot.

after a few minutes, you can open your iPad, and sign back in. You may have to enter your passwords for some sites.

Since the new updates, i have found this necessary to do every other week.

I have an older Samsung Galaxy and what I do every day is go to Settings, then click on Device Maintenance and hit the Optimize button. But if you have slow internet speed from your cable company that could be a reason too...they want you to pay more $$...I call and complain and sometime they turn up the speed for free.

I have had a few Samsung Galaxy tablets over the years.

I brought an S5e last year. Samsung has a new S6 Lite. The 64GB model will have 4GB of RAM, and the 128 model will have 6GB. The 6GB device handles memory very well. You may not have to clear RAM all the time.

I usually buy on Amazon in November or December. There usually is a sale.

Amazon has excellent reviews.

Please call to your ISP about replacing your internet hardware when you can. They are many families working from home, and their children doing distance learning. This puts a strain on the web. Meaning decreased speeds.

Even though this is an older thread, I want to add a troubleshooting checklist that might be of use.

            If a device is slow only when we're using the internet but it works well otherwise, then the internet connection speed and quality needs investigation. Also, you probably should reset your router and also reset network settings on the iPad (under General-->Reset-->Reset Network Settings), and limit the number of browser tabs you keep open.

  Press and hold the sleep/wake power button and the home button for about eight seconds. This will force the device to turn off. If it doesn't automatically restart, just press and hold the sleep/wake power button until you see the Apple logo.

Perform a sync/backup (either with iTunes on your computer or with iCloud -- whatever you normally do). This should be done frequently. It ensures you have a good backup, and it also frees up a substantial amount of space (including removing the stored iPad Analytics/Diagnostics & Usage data which only can be removed with a sync/backup), and it can can clear up a myriad of problems.

More involved, but it can be quite effective especially for older devices: Completely erasing/resetting the device and restoring it from backup or setting it up as "new device" can fix many problems. It's imperative that you first perform a complete backup, unless you simply want to remove everything you've saved and restore the device to factory settings and start from scratch. Research this first and be 100% sure you're comfortable taking this step, or do it with Apple Support or someone with experience guiding you through it.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
            Other posters might have additional suggestions, too.   Fingers crossed something here will do the trick!   Best wishes, and be safe and well, everyone.❤️
