Does anyone have the Motorola Moto G7 6.2 Tracfone? It has good reviews but wondered if it is really that good. Looking to replace a Samsung Crown...

I have the Moto g6 and love mine...

i saw that also but not sure if i will keep mine another year or upgrade again?

I will say that my Moto has updated at least 2 x since i bought it...only Tracfone that i have owned to do so!

I didn't set mine for knock id,or etc after i bought it a year ago,i just shut it off now and then and use it for phone calls and text message.

My wife had the Moto 6. Her main cell is a Samsung Galaxy S8, but she did use her Moto quite a bit also. When her year ran out she moved up to the Samsung, I think A10. More ram/storage and I think it has an octacore processor.

Thought I'd comment about her Moto 6, and not sure of the upgrades on the Moto 7 model.

No I did not order the Moto phone...still thinking. I have samsung galaxy j7 sky pro and I really like it. My hubby has the samsung crown...not happy at all. It is a weird phone. He uses his less than I do so still holding off...

I decided to keep my moto g6

as i have over 5,000 min for phone talk and over 4,000 min for texting yet...so i will just buy/ another year of service this month.

The Tracfone Reviewer's Blog has information about buying phones.

You may find YouTube channel reviews helpful.

I would look for these key features when buying a new Tracfone.

32 GB of storage

2-3 GB of RAM memory

An AC wireless card. Most phones update apps often an AC wireless card is faster than a N card.

I bought a MOTO (not this model) less than a year ago and now after watching the G7 presentation, I want it! I had an LG before and did not realize how bad it was until I started using the Moto. I recommend Moto.

I was going to need to add a years service to my Moto g6 before July 17 that would have been over $50.00 w/0 state tax

so i decided to check on the Moto g7 on HSN today

Wow prices was down to $99.99 and free S&H !!

plus HSN recently sent me a $10.00 code#189388 email coupon...so i paid$ 89.99 before my state tax was added!plus free S&H!!

I caved ,it was too good of a deal for $99.99 plus a $10.00 off coupon they sent me in a e-mail and free S&H plus saved $50 plus for not ordering -a years service time on my moto g6....so it was almost like getting it free...lol

They only had 2 color choices for me so i ordered black..no problem for me.

I also ordered the Moto G7 from HSN today after receiving an alert that the price had dropped! Since there's no time limit on when to activate, I'll just hold it for now, since I have plenty of time left on my Samsung Galaxy.

That's a great bargain and I've wanted to return to the Moto anyway.

@SoX , while the phone does not have to be activated right away, HSN return policy is not extended, as I understand it. So if the phone is defective, and the HSN return window is closed, then aren't you out of luck?

I bought the G7 but have not activated it yet. I played with it a bit to see how things work. It seems excellent, but it is heavy. I have tons of unused minutes/time/data/msgs but wanted the new phone to upgrade the Android version.

I am procrastinating activation because sometimes over the decade I've used Tracfone, changing phones has not gone smoothly online. Dealing with someone on the phone is so exceedingly aggravating and they always screw up and change my phone number a few times in the process. But I will do it soon so that I can return if the phone is defective.

I have the Moto g7 and i saw that tracfon had a transfer wizard... needed to download app on both phones.it was easy to use and it even transfered my contacts for me.plus all my unused phone mim.,text min over to new phone.

Was very easy to do.

To be on the safeside i called the 800 number used the menu... to transfer phone# to new tracfone.

Also easy to do it asked for phone# plus sim# or othernumber on the red card...that's was it!

Very easy and no calling to talk to someone

I had the Moto g6 tracfone and it was time to add another year of service to it.. so i .decided to upgrade to the Moto g7... have had it a week now and love it.

@cowboy sam @SoX , today I bit the bullet and activated the G7, but this turned out to be one of the not so good activations. I did it on My Account on tracfone.com, but it did not work properly. (Phone activated, but calls went to different cell carriers.) So, YUCK, I had to call tracfone support.

It definitely was not the worst tracfone support experience I've had, only took an hour or so, but ultimately the "next level tech" got things working for me, including getting my promotional minutes added. After several repetitive steps cycling the phone off/on, that which ultimately worked was doing a factory reset of the phone. Of course, I don't know if they also send some kind of signal to the phone.

So now I must learn (and personalize) this new phone which is very different from my LG Stylo. First surprise is the phone updated its Android security to 1 Dec. 2019. First time I've had a tracfone update Android, so this was nice. I suppose it's the last update since 9 isn't the current version of Android, but it's a big jump from level 7, I had been using.

I need to shop for a proper case because the phone is too slippery, is an accident waiting to happen. I need grippy sides.

The latest version of Android is 10. I moved from And 5 to 10 when I bought a new phone in March. You should be able to find information about the system and security updates by using the model number with a Google search.

I'm having all sorts of issues with my new G7...so annoyed. I haven't given up yet, thinking I may be able to adjust settings. It won't keep the date/time, whether I set it manually or let it go automatic. Today I tried to place a call but it tried to go to another cell carrier whose recording said they would be happy to sell me service. It seems every time I pick up the phone, there is something goofy. I set things the way I want and then magicly a few hours later, it has changed my settings. etc. etc. etc.

Android Pie - 9 is VERY different from 7, and I'm having a hard time adjusting to the many differences.

One big thing against the phone: as far as I can tell, there is no notification that I had a call or have a text message. My other phone had a flashing red light. This phone has a nearly invisible blue dot that appears on the edge of the text icon. It is not visible, and certainly not at a distance.
