I Pad Question

I read some daily newspapers online all of a sudden all that comes up when I go into one is about the top quarter of the page with headlines, etc., - all below blank.

Have reset I pad several times but still the same. Only happens on this site. DH still can get them on computer - any ideas? Thank you.

@dulwich I am having that problem with the Daily Mail. Started a few weeks ago. Loads the same way yours does on my three iPads. It works on my iPhone but it’s impossible to read.

my husband said he figured out how to get it to load but he’s outside now. When he comes in I’ll ask him.

I had that problem with the Daily Mail too. Turns out we needed to reset our modem and router. We unplugged them and disconnected the cables. Let them set for a couple of minutes and then reconnected them. That fixed my problem.

I know it sounds crazy, but it truly fixed my problem. Our son in law is in IT at a large corporation and told me to do this. Every month or so I just do it to prevent problems. I cannot explain it, but it works for me!

Somehow when they are disconnected and then reconnected it " resets" them.

"Reset Network Settings" for the iPad or iPhone can help clear up internet problems, too. It will automatically shut down and restart the device and then you'll need to connect to your router anew, so be sure you have your password before doing this.

Settings-->General-->Reset-->Reset Network Settings

eta: One other thing... sometimes switching between "Desktop Website" and "Mobile Website" will help.

@proudlyfromNJ, I'm sorry the problem persists. Just brainstorming, and I can't duplicate the problem on my iPad 6 or my very old iPad or iPhone, but I wanted to list some ideas (some of it is repetition but wanted to have a more complete list). I use Safari, but most of this applies even if you use other browsers.

Be sure you have the most current operating system software version.

Close all apps running in background.

Clear all Safari history and website data and look under "Advanced-->Website Data" and be sure to remove everything there, too.

Try switching between the desktop or mobile version of the website.

Reset your router. (Beyond just turning on/off or unplugging/pluggin in, you might want to use the "reset" button to return to factory default settings -- but be sure you know your password before resetting.)

Reset the iPad "Network Settings" and then reconnect to your router. (Be sure you know your router password before resetting.)

Sync/backup your device. (This clears out stored analytic or diagnostic data -- not only does that data take up a lot of space, it also can be the hidden cause of a myriad of problems. The only way to delete it is to perform a backup/sync. This data is stored in newer iOS versions under Settings, Privacy, Analytics, Analytics Data and in older iOS versions it was stored in Settings, Privacy, Diagnostics & Usage -- if you look there, you might be surprised to see how much there is.)

Instead of using a bookmark/favorite, go directly to the website. Old bookmarks/favorites can sometimes direct us to an old server or a cached area that doesn't load correctly.

See if a different browser gives you different results.

Try toggling some of the browser settings on and off to look for different results. (Be sure to only try one change at a time, and note the changes you made.)

If you have Screen Time enabled, check to see if you have any content and privacy restrictions set that might interfere with the website access.
