Trac Fone questions

Hi There. I have a a Trac Phone. I've let my minutes expire as of December. I just ordered the TSV Trac Fone. If my minutes have expired so long ago, will I still be able to

1. Use my old account to log in?

2. Keep my old phone number?

3. Transfer anything from old phone to new phone? if so, which things can transfer?

Tracfones with no minutes, no airtime, or no phone number will be deactivated.

Yes, you should be able to log on to the website. When you check your phone's status, it's likely to be "Deactivated".

Since a couple of months have passed, I'd expect the phone number has been reassigned by now. Count yourself lucky if it's still available.

I have no clue whether you can transfer info from a deactivated phone. Never read of anyone trying to.

The app Tracfone Wizard from Tracfone should work. Don't know why the phone would have to be active to transfer stuff. There is a video there if you want to check it out.

Because it has to be active to use the appstore, download the Wizard app, and uses WiFi or data (or both) while making the transfer, doesn't it?

It doesn't transfer info directly from device to device, does it??

You have 60 days after a Tracfone is deactivated to use any remaining airtime to either transfer or to use again on the same phone when it's reactivated. After that then they are gone for good.

Deactivated phone numbers cannot be reused. Reactivation means you will get a new number. New phone activation means you will get a new number or you can port an old number as long as that one is still active.

Even if you let your Tracfone expire, your account doesn't go away and your account can still be used to purchase more minutes, or to reactivate an existing Tracfone or to buy new phone. Your Tracfone account access is your email address, not a phone number.

If you mean active--as in the phone needs to have been activated on the Tracfone site so the minutes, text, and data are viable--the answer is no.

A Tracfone without a contract is like a mini-tablet. Once charged it can be connected to your internet and/or wifi enabled and is able to utilize apps. I have a phone now that I've yet to activate by transferring my old number to the new one but I do have apps on it like Spectrum, Netflix, Napster, Overdrive, etc. Sometimes I just use the new phone like a pocket-sized tablet. I'll transfer my new phone over as soon as I stop procrastinating, lol.

Same goes for the Transfer Wizard app. No need for an account to use the app.
