HALO Bolt Question

Can I use the Bolt as a back-up power supply for a router when the power goes out? In other words if I lose electrical power in my house and lose wi-fi because my router is plugged into a wall outlet, will the the Bolt power up my router?

Short answer is Yes. Anything small, like a lamp or your router, that runs on 110V AC, will run from a fully charged Halo. Be advised, it's not going to run for much more than a few hours, depending on how much power the router draws off, but it could get you through a brief outage.

The best thing you can do to prepare for emergency usage is to test before there's a power failure. If you have a Halo and charge it fully, unplug the router from the wall and plug it into the Halo. See how well it functions and see if it can work for at least an hour, or more.

If you are satisfied with the performance in a non-emergency, you will have confidence to use the Halo with your router when it's imperative. The bigger the appliance or device you plug into the Halo, the more power it will draw and drain the Halo sooner.

I had the same question. I guess I could also use the car to recharge the bolt and then use it again to power the router.
