topic New Bose has CDs skipping in Electronics

I just bought and received -

Bose Wave Music System III and IE2 In-Ear Audio Headphones

and I'm having trouble with it right out of the box. The first CD I inserted started skipping about halfway through the soundtrack. I took out that CD and put in a brand new CD that I've never played, and it did the same thing, about halfway through. I moved it from the table to the kitchen counter - tried another CD- and it did the same thing.

The audio/sound was ok, but I couldn't hear much of the bass while it played the CDs. When I switched it to radio, I could hear the bass much better.

I guess I'm packing this up and returning it Monday. This is way too much money for a CD player that can't get through a CD without skipping. I doubt I'll ask for an exchange - only a refund. This experience has me leery of trying another. I went to my item to read reviews, but this particular Bose is no longer offered, so no reviews. :-/
