Hi. I am suddenly having problem clicking on items on Amazon and getting blank screen saying too many redirects. It seems to be only Amazon. The site downloads fine. I checked for possible fixes and went to settings and deleted most the website data individually, and all Amazon related. I didn’t want to eliminate it all. Would appreciate any help. Thank you, Susi.

I have an IPad. Apparently with one of the updates it may have caused this snafu. I may have to switch to Chrome browser, or do the total wipeout. Sounds like a big todo, and it is only Amazon affected. Thank you for responding!

Well, I wiped out all the website data and it worked, now I can browse on Amazon again. Wonder why it was just Amazon, I will never know. Guess it was a good idea to clean out all those websites, as had no idea what most of them were. Thank you LTT1

Was it just with Amazon?

Per some site I asked how to fix , it recommended to go to settings, click on Safari, click advanced, then click website data, and then click on remove all website data, or you can just remove certain sites individually. Had to remove them all as there are hundreds in there, and that didn’t help me. There is an alert that you will lose some data, but so far I have been ok and just had to put in passwords again on some sites. Day is still young, so hoping I didn’t cause any other problems. This is for IPad. . Good luck!

I had a lot of them.

That's right, @ Montana, sometimes you have to go into both areas to clear it all (I do it each time as I listed just to be sure everything is gone). Also, it's supposed to close out tabs you had open because those are there as part of the temporary history and not permanently.

This process is to clear out the history and temporary data, sort of a reset for the browser to let us start fresh each time. It improves efficiency, removes bad data, and it also can improve security. Generally you'll use bookmarks or favorites, or add sites to the Home screen as icons, if you want to have quick and frequent access to them.

You can even add a bookmark for several tabs (hold down the bookmark icon and select "Add Bookmark for [number] Tabs.") Then, you can use that if you know you want to open specific multiple tabs/sites all at the same time.

I like to close everything down in an orderly manner -- log out of all sites I've opened, close out the tabs, close Safari app in background, and then go to Safari and delete all the data and history. Then relaunch Safari and start anew.

That is good to know dooBdoo, I certainly had a lot of clutter in there and did notice my IPad was acting pokey lately. I do ‘Clear away’ all my open sites every day, but never knew about clearing all the website data. It is funny it just caused trouble on Amazon, and others had same issue. I am going to go over all this later and do a good cleaning! Once again, it is really nice of you to take time to explain all this, and I am happy to be back on Amazon. Thank you! Susi.
