New iPod Touch

Apple is now selling the new iPod Touch. I have a very old one, I enjoyed it, I have dropped it a million times but it still works ( I can no longer get updates). The new iPod Touches’ come in a 32GB for $199, 128GB for $299, and 256GB for $399. Why didn’t they start out with a 64GB which I think I have? I don’t need the 256GB one, I don’t know if I want to spend $299 for the 128GB. I guess my question is, could one get by with the 32GB, and how much storage is it really?

How much storage are you using on your current iPod? That would help you deciding which one is right for you. Of course, if you’re using it for other things like apps, games, etc. you will use additional storage. My iPod is a 32g, has about 3000 songs, a few videos and such. I don’t have a lot of apps downloaded on it and I’m using 20g of storage with 7g still available.

You should see if your Touch Wiil work.without an update. Apple is making changes in iTunes. Please read before you buy an new iPod.

A 128GB drive is 115GB of storage. A 64GB is 50GB.

@Nuttmeg Apple products still works w/o updating. The only thing "updating & upgrading" does is adding bells & whisles which most folks don't even use.

I have the discontinued 5th generation iPod Nano w/video 16 GB. Thing is older than dirt (2009) & still does what I want it to do since Apple stopped updating its software. I connect it to my car when I am driving around & have it w/me when I am walking about.

Ditto for my 2008 MBP which is still going strong using Snow Leopard OS (using it now to post).

My iPod touch is old too. OS 4.2., 30 GB.

I thought of upgrading, but decided to keep using until it dies.

I don't have a lot of music on my iPod Touch (it still works but cannot get software updates I really want a new one). I use it for reading my email, surfing the web, social media, and I do have a number of apps, I like playing games.
