No, Its for any TV made after the year 2000. Please keep in mind if you already have a new "smart tv" you dont need the Firestick. You can get any of the apps already on your tv.

@lexi, Fire Sticks have been around a lot longer than 4K TVs. What it might mean is that your Fire Stick can play 4K content. Some of the older streaming devices cannot play 4K. 4K is relatively new TV technology.

Also, your streaming device will only play 4K if you have a TV with 4K capability. Your streamer does not provide 4K content...it comes only from a 4K TV.

So it sounds like this would work on my 2004 TV? I have no idea where I would insert the firestick. Do I need wifi?

Only if you can't connect your TV via an ethernet cable. In otherwords, if your TV is near your router, you can connect it directly. If not, you'll need WiFi.
