Internet Radio

Any one have a internet radio? I'd like to buy 1 for husband's xmas present

We had a Mondo brand, but, you have to buy a new battery for it all the time that can run over 50. Is not rechargable.

I think Aluratek has a rechargable battery.

Any recommendations ?

Macs come preinstalled w/iTunes which has internet radio.

Why are you paying for internet radio? It's free.

There are litterly thousands of internet radio stations on the net.

iTuns has hundreds of stations. You can get everything & anything your heart desires.

Another resource are the Amazon Echo devices. All of them.

I have iHeartRadio app on my smart TV and that way I can listen to many stations on my home theater...awesome!

I bought an Internet radio for my mom many years ago, but it was so complicated for her, that she never used it unless I set it up for her. If I was doing it today, I'd just buy an Echo Dot (around $25-$50 these days) and it could access Tunein, iHeart Radio or one of the other services and let her listen to any radio station she could ask for, including police and fire frequencies by just asking for it. It would be faster, easier, and probably cheaper than buying a radio. If you know what radio stations he wants to listen to, give us a list and we can see if they're available through the Echo devices. You can just ask, "Alexa, play WXYZ radio from wherever." and see if she finds it. More likely than not, she will. They're danged clever little devices.

I have the 2nd gen DOT. I am a talk radio freak. Every night I listen to talk radio from all over the world. I am amazed that the majoritiy of the international talk show hosts & hostesses speak English. Some heavily accented.

I perfer Tunein over iHeart.

I agree, Echoes are fantastic for this purpose. I have several Echoes and Echo Dots all over my apartment and use them for this kind of thing.

The older Dots (Gen 1 and 2) have small speakers. They're probably better for spots and talk/news programs, but they're not great for music. The Gen 3 has a better speaker, but I haven't heard it

I would spend the extra money for a full-size Echo (QVC has a 2-pack coming up as a TSV soon or buy one from Amazon on Black Friday / Cyber Monday). The larger speaker has much better sound quality and the volume goes up higher. You can also connect a Dot to any good Bluetooth speaker for better sound quality and volume from the smaller device.

I have one in the bathroom and use it to listen to music, radio, and audiobooks while I'm getting ready for work in the morning or before bed. It's very easy and convenient and the small footprint means none of them take up much counter space. I used to have a 24" boombox on my bathroom counter and gained a lot of space when I switched.

I'm boring. If they're listening in on me they're only hearing me talking to my cats or fish. I like to think I'd bore them into listening to someone else in short order.

Me too. I have a Spot and turn it off if I'm not using it.

My husband just brought a newer tablet from Samsung it has a application for internet radio that was the first time we saw this and it is indeed for free.
