Apple Settings Phone Number Update Alert

Hi. Received alert to verify my Phone number under Settings on my IPad. Normally I would just verify it as correct. But last 3 days have been getting Apple Inc robocalls which I have been blocking, so am suspicious of this sudden update . I don’t have an Apple phone, just landline to which calls are coming. Has anyone else got this Settings update to verify phone number,’ so as not to get locked’ out of Apple devices. It looks official, has a ‘1’ on Settings icon. Thanks, Susi.

Thank you, I am aware , that was why I was wondering about this update alert. It had my last 4 numbers correct. I was just asking if others have gotten this update on the official Settings Icon. It just seemed suspicious along with all the robocalls.

Perhaps you have two factor authentication turned on and your home phone as a trusted number?

I don’t remember . Haven’t been lockec out in a while, but use home phone number as contact in past .

IT IS A SCAM. IGNORE IT!!!!!

We have this iMac, 2 iPhones and 1 iPad. We haven't gotten that message and we'd ignore it if we did.
