We used Security Essentials that's already on Win 7.

We also use Malwarebytes & CCleaner.

We have Win 10 now & use Windows Defender.

I have Avast on Windows 10. They make everything slower to load, and the continual notices to upgrade before the free trial is over is a royal pain in the neck.

Thank you Nightowlz...I will try that. I also use Malwarebytes & cCleaner..great programs...also I wouldn't be without Superantispyware..

Thank you bridal_diva. I have used free Avast for many years, but here lately when I run my smart scan, it takes forever and ever to run, and never gets completed, so I stop the scan...then it says all is good....duh....and I do agree, yesterday & today, it was taking forever to load or even had trouble to open my desktop icons. & ditto on the notices...
