Let friends talk me in the smart phone when we planned a trip. Didn’t like the smart phone. For me excellent CS and no issues. When they had the flip phone on sale called to make changes. Given extra discount for the flip phone because not happy with smart phone. Only use flip phone for emergencies. Purchase 200 minutes per month and total bill each month $19.78. Did not purchase or pay extra monthly fee for other medical features. Spouse is hard of hearing but no issues with this phone. Everyone has different needs. I tried several different tracphones that were suppose to be easier to use but not for me. I had a friend that wanted to buy my smartphone but I gave it to her and paid for name change and activation fee since she was dealing with breast cancer.

Despite the silly name,I've been thinking about buying one. My old flip phone is completely obsolete so it's time to make a change.

Does anyone hae a "Jitterbug"? Can you keep your original number or can you change it if you want to? Is really as easy to use as the ads say they are?

And what about the price? Do you think it's worth what you have to pay? Are there any little "gotchas" to look out for?

As far as I can tell, you're not tied into a contract and for me, that's a plus, although not a make-or-break deal.

And before someone jumps on me and tells me to call Jitterbug and ask these questions, I'd prefer to get information from the actual users. TIA

If it's from GreatCall, we had terrible customer service from them. Had an emergency call button necklace for my mom...she didn't like it, had an awful time getting them to cancel the service. It seems like all the senior-type helper devices come through GreatCall. I don't recommend getting involved with them.

I do not have one but have also been considering one. On the website it says no contracts. no cancellation fee, can keep exsisting number, 100 percent american based customer service. So that may answer some of your questions. What I don't like is, I think I read somewhere, that you cannot carry over unused minutes.

I've had a Jitterbug for about 14 years. Started with the little Jitterbug, then moved to different versions through the years. I seldom use a cellphone so have stayed with my "dumbphone," which is a Jitterbuy flip phone a few years old. It works for what I use a phone for. I cannot comment on their smartphones other than to say my neighbor has one and loves it.

I have not had an issue with any of the phones I've had. I mainly wanted to comment on service. I have had nothing but good customer service over the years. Can't think of any time I had a problem. My contact with CS was when I upgraded a phone or added minutes, etc. Their offers are different now from when I first began using the phone.

Good luck!

My dad had one for several years, till he passed away, and it was fine. We actually used my mom’s old cell number for it and that transferred over easily. It was under $20 a month total and when we called them a person actually answers the phone. It was a positive experience for us.
