Do I need this if I have AdBlockUltimate already?

Somebody took over my browser, took, in to shop , he installed the adblock

I don't know if I should install the Malwarebytes Free too ?

Got a friend that said I should install to keep stuff from trying to take over my browser Safrai search page.

I don't trust any page now even the cnet page where I can download the Free malwarebytes. I might be downloading more malware then will cost me another 100 bucks to clean up.

I have both on my PC, but I don't have the paid version of Malwarebytes that runs real time. Rather, I run the scan weekly. I had the paid version but found it slowed things down a bit. No idea whether it's needed on a Mac but if you install the free version you then control when you run it so I wouldn't think it would be a deficit.

Used to be we Mac folk didn't have to contend with Windows problems, but, now the meanies are stepping up to cause mayhem for Apple too.

I've never gotten malware on my mac and I don't run any of them. I do have my basic firewall turned on and I'm well versed on safe web browsing practices. I did have a various additional safety apps back when I used windows though as they really were needed.

I have it on both of my Macs and it never finds anything.

Since you have a Mac, download software directly from the App Store and/or the manufacturer website.

Yeah, I went ahead and took a chance and it said in 28 days it will revert to the Free version. No credit card information was exchanged, so , I figure middle of June it will ask me if I want to upgrade to the paid version I'll say no thanks and there it is. Just have to do manual scans .

I got 2 Windows laptops , so, manual updating is nothing new, just a full time job.

Sure hate I can't download coupons for products I use.

somebody always has to spoil something for somebody else.
