I’ve never actually claimed and received anything like this. I purchased an LG V30 phone in October with Verizon. Every other carrier offered a monetary discount/price break except Verizon, which I have to use as they are the only carrier that gets any decent service in my rural, relatively sparsely populated area. Verizon’s offer was a hot-off-the-line $200 virtual reality headset and free apps to use it, and a $200 VISA card.

I have now actually received both items, and am pleased. I need to set up the headset and download the software, and I’m looking forward to trying it out. The gft card is going to buy me a few fiiine meals.

Description reads as it should be included. Verizon said I had to call LG. LG said no they’re not included in the promo, but gave me Google’s CS # to “try.” Pretty sucky not to include the cord in the promo when it IS included if you purchase it :-( But that’s on Google and LG, not Verizon. Sigh.

Absolutely NO instructions as to how to use it in the box whatsoever. I’ll have to go to the Google Store and read there I guess. I’ve never tried one so I’m clueless. No doubt there are other desirable/pretty necessary accessories I’ll have to look at.

The one thing I wish I could figure out on the Android phone is how to configure it so it ONLY makes a noise if I get a call or a text and no other sounds from anything. I have gone through each app one by one and set them all but 2-3 to no notification or sound of any kind, but something is still chiming all the time. It’s not mail, not a text. Even though I’ve tried to be sure everything is “off” as far as Facebook, I think that it’s the FB app that’s still doing it - I think FB somehow overrides your choice. Sooo annoying!

On the iPhone, it never made a peep for anything unless I told it to specifically - the default was silence. Maybe it’s an LG thing and not Android, I dunno.

Oh darn! Sorry that didn't help. Well, if nothing else, you could go to Verizon and ask for help with the phone.

I have gone to Sprint a couple of times to ask how I could do something on the phone that I couldn't figure out. I'm pretty good about trying to figure stuff out myself but after that doesn't work, I ask them. The manual for my phone is very unhelpful - like TOTALLY unhelpful.

Each time I did that, the person working there seemed to know how to find/do anything that I couldn't figure out (not that that's saying much, since I'm fairly new to smartphones). It would seem that the smartphone is smarter than I.
