I have not seen the tsv, but I have always been an HP user and did purchase an hp tsv about 8 months ago. It is the worst laptop that I have ever had. Slow doesn't even begin to tell the story. Deleting e-mails is so time-consuming that I usually just go to my Samsung tablet to delete. Trying to open an e-mail and you never know which one will open or how long it will take, of, maybe it just gets deleted in the middle of reading. Sorting can be difficult. Just not a good purchase for me.

My next computer will come from Costco and will probably be a Lenova. I know several people who have been happy with that brand, and Costco has free tech support.

Just carefully check everything out before purchasing.

I preordered the 17" Rose Gold and it shipped today. I am pleased by what this computer has to offer. I have been looking for about 6 months.

A backlit keyboard is a nice addition with Touch Screen,

a 2 TB hard drive, and the 7th gen i5 processor. It still has the DVD drive that many laptops do not have any longer. It has an Ethernet port if you do not have any wireless connection. The QVC return policy is until the end of January 2018 and ther are NO restocking fees as the stores like Best Buy's charge. There is 3 years of Tech Service for any questions you may have. This is a brand new Tech Service and opened 24 hours a day. The HP Alex is very knowledgeable about computers. I have messaged him online and answered every question I had before purchasing this.

Any PreSale orders will ship immediately. That is why I ordered mine several days ago when they put the item number online.

This TSV is similar to the August 6th i3 laptop that I purchased in Gold at that time. I only sent that one back due to not liking the color. It set up easily and ran smoothly. Windows 10 was easy to use and I loved the touch screen. The i3 was not slow and my emails set up easily and never was a problem. It never ran hot and it was whisper quiet.

@SXMGirl I had the same exact experience!! I had bought the laptop for my son who’s in law school. I called customer service & returned the laptop. I then bought him a new one from Costco!! He loves it.It was also cheaper than the one from QVC.It came with a four year warranty & lifetime tech support . It too is an HP.I think the ones they make for QVC aren’t as good!! Oh & Costo also gives you a 90 Days to return it.

I like my HP laptop, but then again I didn’t order it from QVC. I ordered direct from HP and customized the processor and ram that I wanted.

This is the way to go! I'm not an HP fan but if I were, I would buy from the manufacturer. You'll get more for your money and, most importantly, you won't get outdated stuff like you'll get when you buy from a shopping network, and bloatware that they load on there.

I've purchased from other manufacturers, such as Dell, Sony, and Toshiba over the years and always could beat the prices/features from QVC models. One Toshiba I purchased was already configured and I bought it just like that. Right after that I saw that same exact model on QVC for over $200 MORE than what I paid.

The stats are not shown here for the computer that the OP is contemplating. That info, as well as price, would probably help others to know what you're looking to purchase.

I can't find any details on the "software package" they're offering. Based on past offers, I suspect most of it will hardly, if ever, be used. Paying a yearly fee for Office would be the last choice for me. There are free alternatives available including offerings from Microsoft; check their website.

After searching, I did find the information on the software package. As I suspected, I would never use any of it and I doubt that most people would. There's no money management software included. I have a product on my iMac and it is absolutely invaluable especially at tax preparation time.

As a matter of course, I would NEVER order electronics, especially computers, from ANY TV Shopping Channel. I'd use the manufacturers' websites. I'd also find out of the manufacturers offered factory-backed extended service plans. I'd prefer that option to the 3rd Party extended service plans offered by TV Shopping Channels.

The only way to know if this is a good deal is to compare prices for the exact model at several retailer as well as directly from HP. The software package may include programs you not only will use but really want. Just because some claim the packages are worthless doesn't mean it is for everyone. Look at the Sunday ads and see what the local retailers in your area have for sale.

When I bought Windows based computers, I went to the company's website and customized a computer to meet my needs. If you are a basic user, just about any basic computer will work fine. Just make sure you have at least 8 GB of RAM (memory) so your computer won't run slow.

My AMD 8 Toshiba has an i7 processor but the speed is only 1.6 and the TSV is a 7th gen i5 processor with a 2.5 speed on the new one.

I decided to go online and check every software I would use in the free package with the TSV I would use about 6 of them and possibly up to 10. I checked out 10 of the 14 and the price added up to $1204.78. Shocked me as I did they for exactly as shown. The Greeting Card Program is $50.00 alone.

I did go on HP to build a laptop-if it had an i7 processor they had overkill on the rest that I didn't need or want at a much higher price. That was for a plain silver color one also. I Preordered the Rose Gold in the 17" w/o Office as my Microsoft Office 2007 worked perfectly on the i3 Gold color Windows 10 HP TSV Laptop they had on August 6 that I returned. I had purchased a 15" and decided to get the 17" in Rose Gold when the next Intel HP came on. Mine new HP laptop will be delivered tomorrow. I am looking forward to it.

The main thing that anyone getting a new laptop will be what they can afford, that the most items you want will be on it, and that you have a good return with no restocking fees if you decide to return it.

I had made a list of what I wanted and then checked them all out before ordering. The DVD drive was important to me and the color is beautiful also.

Good luck finding a perfect fit for all of you searching for your new purchase.

The HP laptop (w/Windows 8) I bought from QVC so many years ago, I can't remember when is still alive and kicking. Works like a charm!

The DELL I bought 3 years ago with Windows 10 died this morning.

I've ordered another HP to replace it.

I will NEVER buy another Dell. That DELL laptop gave me problems from day 1.

Ms Office 2007 will no longer get security updates. They expired in October 2017.

I don't think the touch screen is very ergonomic on a laptop, unless the screen folds up,

a backlight is nice and something that I wish I had now

but the bloatware is a waste, take 100 $ off the price and leave it off, maybe the only thing that is useful would be the transfer program if there is one,

cut the costs with offering so many colors as well

after listening to the presentation, this is geared to the the beginner or less expert user, just my thoughts

One thing I notice is that when they offer something like Word I've never heard them mention that it's not a full license. It's only for the first year. At that point you have to pay the annual fee to keep the software. Yet they add on way more to the price than it would cost if you just bought the software yourself.

If I'm wrong and they do explain this, please correct me. I've only seen them mention that you 'get' the software with some configurations, never that you just get the first year (which you can probably do yourself elsewhere anyway) and you have to pay after that.

I admit that I've never watched a full presentation of these because I'm just not that interested, since I know I can do better elsewhere. But sometimes I've watch parts just out of some kind of morbid curiosity.

I meant 'Office', not just 'Word'. D'oh!

Microsoft has gone to a yearly subscription service for Office. You can still find the full download if you search for it.

Same here- have a 9 year old Dell- still (slowly) kicking--( I did get a new hinge and frame from Amazon as it let loose on me a couple while ago--then i got a new one- wanted something faster---had to send it back after like one day the warranty ran out (of course!) and they wouldn't extend!---so after much (polite)temper tantrum-- they sent a refurbished (as they ALL DO >:/ ( ya know? ya pay for a NEW and ya get a refurb replacement- SOOO annoying) --- then this one does whatever the H it wants- seriously- it has a mind of it's own- bought an hp at WALMART- for kid like 5 years ago- never had a problem- Thing is I still want a dvd and card slot for media cards- and yeah I STILL PLAY CD's in my car!!! I LIKE CD's!! what am i supposed to do throw them out?? --- anyhow- I digress- I'm considerine this hp because I have shopped the company websites- and tried to build- and it always comes out more and no extra help available for problem solving.

I would think that would be your mail provider not the computer itself- but then- i'm not a tech. I DO know that when I have mail prob- I contact them and it usually gets fixed fairly quick.

I really just wanted an updated Laptop for CDs and music/itunes...am I still the only person who likes to download my CDs for my iPod, LOL! It was shipped 12/4from Shanghai so I am awaiting its arrival.....also STILL waitin* for my BOSE player to arrive. Shipping has been horrible this season Hoping to like the laptop

I purchased a HP from QVC about 6 years ago. I am on it right now, and I love it. I thought about the TSV as a backup, but bought the new Ipad instead. That computer is a good deal. I know I am late responding to this, but I just saw it. The i5 processor is excellent and very fast. It has a Intel pentium which I highly recommend. AMD stinks. This computer had everything that I would buy. You can always return. I think Intel has a new processor out i7 and that may be why they are trying to unload the i5 but I can tell you that the i5 is excellent.
