It sounds like that may have been the problem. Apple updates shouldn't cause trouble as only Apple hardware goes into Apple computers, so they don't have to do a ton of testing. There may have only been two hundred or so hardware combos over the recent timespan of Apple computers as compared to literally billions of possible hardware combinations for Windows machines. But, even given fewer hardware options to deal with, things slip through from time to time.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;And I thought that jumping cursor was one of the signs my 5-year old Dell laptop was over the hill.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;By the way, when I&amp;nbsp;called my favorite techie for advice, his advice was not to waste my money trying service on this laptop -&amp;nbsp; just buy new.&amp;nbsp; That didn't surprise me, but his recommendation to stick with Dell sort of did.&amp;nbsp; Haven't decided yet what I'm doing, but in the meantime, I'm getting a few more months with that cursor occasionally acting up.&amp;nbsp; Today, it's being good.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

It could be related to that if it did. Does it occur across multiple programs (e-mail, word processing, spreadsheets) or is the problem confined to just one program? If it occurs across multiple programs that implies it's more of a systemic issue, either OS or hardware.
