When I send email on my iPad Pro I no longer get the swoosh sound. I miss it. I've checked all the sound settings. Any suggestions?

Aha, now I see. Not an "i" person, never owned one. With my Android tablet I have hit the volume button, not knowing it, many times, but no sound works when I do that. An easy fix.

If you have checked all the settings and they are all set to "on", and it is just that sound, it beats me. On our HP and Samsungs, I have never heard a sound when sending mail. As long as it sends, I'm good.

There is somewhere where you turn it on and off. I have to keep it off because when she hears it, my dog jumps up and goes into a barking frenzy.

Apple came out with a new iPad Pro. It has a pencil and I thought it would be fun to play with. I sometimes forget my technical ability. Lol. Any way, just using it the normal way, when I send an email, usually a swoosh sounds on my computer and other iPad. This new one won't swoosh or swish. Annoying.

Did you look under Settings and Sounds? You can set whatever sound you want for getting mail, sending mail, etc.

Go to,settings, the sounds. The volume slide at the top might be off, check that.

@yock, follow these steps. I’m giving you the path to restore the swoosh sound. If you need me to fill,in more narrative than just the path, I will do so if you post here that you need further help.

After going thru these steps make sure your volume is adjusted for “Sound Effects” using the up/down buttons on the right side of your iPad.

Settings>Sounds>Sent Mail>Classic (under Alert Tones)>Swoosh (make sure there is a check next to the Swoosh). Then leave the Settings.

Then check volume adjusted to enable Sound Effects to be audible. Use the upper button of the two on the right side of the tablet.

When I would sometimes lose sound on my iPad it was occasionally one particular app that caused it. You could try uninstalling and reinstalling the app - OR - sometimes just doing a hard reboot would fix it. That is, assuming it’s not a setting you don’t realize somehow got changed without you knowing it. But with all the updates lately, not all apps keep 100% compatible.

I did not do latest update for iOS 11 for many reasons🙄 If you go to general settings Pick sounds Go to email It will give you choice - mine is set at "classic" which is the swoosh for sending email And our cable provider Brighthouse was bought out by Spectrum😩😩😩😩we have poor reception, no internet access & phone every night at 11 pm it all goes out!!!! Yet we are paying more $$$$ ugh😤😤😤😤 I'm using my personal hotspot just to get on internet!!!

I did not do the latest update either. I checked my sound settings. My sent mail is set on classic which is checked. No sound.

Must be another setting some p,ace or maybe I have to update. Thanks for your help

I have my swish or swoosh back. I kept going into sounds and over and over selecting default and never getting it. Well you know what they say, you keep doing the thing over and over you are going to get same results.

Now wouldn't you think if there's a volume bar there you would move it. When I did, it played a little tune. So I engaged my brain and thought maybe it controls other things too. I cautiously moved it up a ways. (Don't know why just a ways). I sent myself an email, pushed send. Wait a minute, did I hear something? Pushed that volume bar all the way and the swish was there.

Thanks for the help. I haven't been enjoying figuring out my pencil cause I've been fussing about that sound. I feel like a real techie now Thanks for the encouragement.
