I was on my computer at JC penny when my computer went crazy . It said it was windows and I should call a number. I shut down my computer and then turned on and did a scan with webroot. I then thought I would chat with a webroot agent and they ask for my phone number to dectect and diagonised any problem. I wasn't sure what to do so I just exit out. It said it removed 8 threats. Is that normal for them to ask for a number it was throgh best buy where I purchase everything. Thanks.

Public Wi-Fi can be sketchy. And when you say computer, you are referring to a tablet, right? Or you were using a laptop in Penney's? Then my question is why?

I've had webroot for years. I've never talked to a webroot rep unless I am renewing my subscription (I do 3 years at a time).

My sister had some crazy thing happen on her computer re: windows. I told her, don't panic, shut off the computer then re-start and run webroot.

She's had no issues.
