I use a portable(Western Digital) hard drive to move files from an old computer to a new computer. I buy a drive on Amazon. They cost $59.00.

It will be Black Friday in a few days. Please check for salesl. The drive comes with a 2 year warranty. Most tech stores sell the drives for the same price.

From your backup. Don't have one, not a good idea. The previous advice will work and I hope it gets you into the habit of making regular backups or saving your "stuff" somewhere other than the computer's hard drive. You don't need a backup program. You can drag and drop the files using Windows Explorer or whatever the file management utility is called in Windows 10.
